So you're great at rich narrative action games? Do open world! Also, use our weird custom engine! Make the next one a massive multiplayer subscription game instead!

this is 1000% EA's fault for killing these games by trying to force them to chase trends instead of being unique, distinct propreties www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

How is EA so bad at business. How do you take a studio making massive hits like ME3 and Inquisition and mismanage it so completely that now we’re here. All you had to do was let them keep making amazing games. You’re so bad at making money that you have to shut down BioWare???? Clown shoes company.

I just wish that at least the consequences could land on the people responsible, instead of the hundreds of people getting laid off for reasons completely out of their control.

I would have zero interest in trying to redeem Kylo. Rey spends all of TLJ trying to do that, and we see Kylo not only reject it but actively try to be More Evil instead. She literally shuts the door on him and TRoS should’ve been him having an Azula-style crashout, but here we are.

Could you have redeemed Kylo Ren without brining Palpatine back and if so how ? #StarWars #TROS #Palpatine #KyloRen #BenSolo

Was watching Buffy’s Anya backstory episode. Friend asked why I sighed. “She’s not of a sufficiently high social class to have domesticated rabbits that far north in Europe in that century, but the writers couldn’t know, the paper was only presented at a conference yesterday.” Accuracy is fleeting.

Not the point but I’m really hung up on “solar vs propane for eg.“ For eg. what a beautifully stupid thing to say.

I keep trying to think of any historical example where a given technology's PROMOTERS AND TRUE BELIEVERS were like 'we are absolutely going to ruin your fucking life so be prepared like it's the end of the world'

Genuinely love when a game takes away all your stuff for a minute. Dishonored, Breath of the Wild, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, all have great moments where all the stuff you’ve amassed is suddenly gone and you have to really think about how you’re going to proceed without it.

It is always the correct time to watch Studio Ghibli’s Whisper of the Heart. Yes, you. Stream it on HBO. Buy the DVD. Get it from your local library. Watch it today by any means necessary.

Friendly Reminder: 3DS, Vita and Switch all use a type of flash memory that needs an electrical charge every decade or so to keep the game data from corrupting. TLDR: Boot up all your games and make a save on them to help preserve them into the future!

Love the concept of notaries. Professional pinkie-promisers. Certified not-liars. Yeah nobody should be lying about legal documents but these guys reeaaaaallllly won’t do it, for real.

“We could air one episode every week, let the series build momentum and buzz, and amp up to a huge event for the finale, all the while making sure people stay subscribed to our service for months so they can watch new episodes, or … we could not do any of that in exchange for [???]”

weird accomplishments: likely have written more iambic pentameter verse, commercially as work-for-hire, than anyone else alive on Earth taught myself calculus in my thirties for narrative design reasons At one point an employer gave me a very thoughtful gift of a print of the Stan Kelly "sicko".

Love how any business related to healthcare has to have the “if this is a medical emergency, hang up and dial 911“ warning on its phone system. Like yeah I’m bleeding out and my first thought was to call my dermatologist
