Hey, I’m a professional GM and looking for new campaigns! If you love TTRPGs or want to try one, I can run systems like: 🐉 Dungeons & Dragons 🦑 Call of Cthulhu 💣 Powered by the Apocalypse 🔪 Forged in the Dark And lots of others! DM me or email chrisdigginsgm@gmail.com to discuss!

I really like trolls in Blood Bowl because I can relate to them. I’m also a hideous, lumbering oaf with a voracious appetite who’s too stupid to know what he’s supposed to do half the time

I really need to finish writing that big essay about Braid and Jonathan Blow one of these days

Nick Suttner@nsuttner.bsky.social

I gave Braid an A+ back in my press days. I spent 100s of hours working on The Witness at PlayStation, fighting for it, getting it into conferences, and being Jon's personal wrangler. I even coined "Metroidbrainia" after it. I will not be buying Order of the Sinking Star, and neither should you.

a different pitch - the story is really remarkable. It contains: - A story about the quest for immortality and revenge - One of the cruelest dialog boxes I've ever seen - A lovable human boy who you can give toys and games to in order to teach him about the world

Nine Sols is one of the best Metroidvania you could possibly play, developed by Red Candle who made one of my favourite horror games ever, Detention. Here, we have a Sekiro inspired combat system with some of the most exhilarating boss battles in any game I've ever played. Absolutely phenomenal.

Watched the original 1931 Frankenstein tonight as research for a campaign I'm running. Pretty cool movie, radically different from the novel it's ostensibly based on and also pretty different from the cultural osmosis version you're picturing right now!

*Spoilers for a 95 year old movie* Not only does Dr. Frankenstein survive the events of the film, the villagers never even find out he made the monster! They think it's just some weird guy who killed a kid

I appreciate why many TTRPG books, especially ones for big popular systems, have sections that explain the fundamentals. Everything could potentially be someone's first game! But man, sometimes I wish there was a little note at the start like "these are the relevant sections if you're a veteran"

Things haven’t looked this bright for a team based in the southern Low Countries since Charles the Bold was Duke of Burgundy

A lot of people really want this to break down on a left/moderate or old/young axis but it really doesn't, it's ultimately a cosmopolitan/herrenvolk one because the people most aggressively defending him are doing so from the implied understanding that the "soul of America" emanates from white men

On Bluesky the normies and the lefties are fighting over who is to blame for Platner, when the truth is it's both. He has tons of establishment money and support and Pod Save jackoff cheerleading behind him, but he ALSO panders loudly to Bernie Bros. Worst of all possible Democrats basically.

Did I do a good job? No. But is the color coordination good? Also no. But am I proud of the final result? A third no. But did I have fun doing it? Again, no. But I did do it, so that’s something

My studio notes for this movie: Whenever Karg’s not on screen, all the other characters should be asking “Where’s Karg?”

If you’ve ever wondered how much I sweat, know that it is a regular occurrence after I come inside after walking outside on a sunny day for people to genuinely ask if it started raining

People like Kane and many many others that do care about human art and the creative process have been a beacon of hope while trying to navigate making art in this current climate.
