I'm so excited about another BLINK festival here in Cincinnati. Past years have been epic & this year looks to be even grander on every scale. Light installations, animated murals, drone shows, and all manner of light-based art all over downtown...that's BLINK. www.wvxu.org/local-news/2...

wvxu.orgBlink Cincinnati 2026: What's new and what's familiarThe four-night festival started in 2017, to be held every other year. It was canceled in 2021 because of lingering pandemic concerns.

Add this to the giant, steaming pile of ethical violations and literal laws broken by the Con Man-in-Chief.

There have been so many impeachable offenses, but lying about how you were a hero on a day that 2,753 people died in NYC in the 9/11 disaster—when you were on the other side of town, safely calling local media to brag about how you now had the tallest downtown building—is such a despicable one

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

More and more people who have long thought they were "upper middle class" or even "lower upper class" --- generally "yeah, I'm doing fine" --- are starting to feel squeezed by Trump's war economy. Maybe gas or groceries suddenly became noticeably expensive to them. Whatever it is...

...that top arm of the "K-shaped economy" keeps getting smaller and smaller while the bottom leg --- the folks who feel like they're not keeping up with their dreams and aspirations, if not just their plans --- keeps getting bigger and bigger. The economy is the secret to the next two US elections.

Consider this: A billionaire could give $100,000 away each and every day for 25 years straight and still have over $80 million left (and that doesn't even include interest income) #nobillionaires

I just heard the biggest thunderclap of my entire life. Like terrifyingly loud. Weather in Cincinnati has gone off the rails this year -- record rainfall, record heat, record storm intensity -- and I fear it's the new normal.

Climate change is undeniable, and while it will always be an easy, kneejerk reaction for morons to claim "it's just weather," the root cause of our increasingly violent and destructive weather is, of course, *anthropogenic* climate change. And we, all of us, are the root cause of that.

The US' approach to many things -- largely because of a disturbingly obsessive devotion to capitalism -- is putting unreasonable economic pressures on nearly all Americans, threatening the very fabric of our society. Healthcare is an essential service, not a luxury. www.cbsnews.com/news/hospita...

Every change the Trump administration proposes makes things worse for consumers and better for companies. Every. Single. One. And this is no different. And imagine being the airline lobbyist who has to admit his company wants more leeway to mislead customers. www.cbsnews.com/news/dot-air...

This administration continues to plumb the depths of absurdity and uselessness, this time by calling bike lanes "DEI" and removing them from recommended and federally funded traffic safety initiatives. The cartoonish villainy would be amusing if it weren't so harmful. www.npr.org/2026/07/16/n...

This makes me think that maybe, as Americans approach this Independence Day, that it might be our patriotic duty to send sternly worded emails to government bureaucrats detailing our dissatisfaction with their attempts to undermine our civil liberties. www.npr.org/2026/07/01/n...

There is no reason to be concerned about this. History gives us precisely no examples of would-be authoritarians using fake emergencies as cover for seizing absolute power. My suggestion would be for all Americans and especially all politicians in Washington to continue doing whatever they're doing.

When political ideology overrides scientific consensus, it can be fatal and undermine national security. #Vaccines save lives, protect public health, and are essential for maintaining vital functions. And politics shouldn't get in the way of that.

The world’s ten richest people — almost all Americans — saw their collective net worth increase by $220 billion in May. These ten people are now worth a combined $2.9 trillion. The bottom 50% of U.S. households, is worth $4.3 trillion. Wondering if inequality is out of control?

Staggering levels of corruption. They’re using every possible lever of power to enrich themselves and their friends and families. And the “party of fiscal responsibility” simply doesn’t care.

Imagine if a woman president crashed the economy and started a war with no end in sight, and her biggest, seemingly ONLY concern was building a ballroom and redecorating the White House.

Was testing a new(ish) USB CD/DVD drive and just grabbed a random CD off my shelf to see if it could be read. Ended up being a Palm OS 5 compatibility CD from 2002. Man, I tell you what -- smartphones are really cool and powerful and all, but there are days when I truly miss my PalmPilot.
