I’m sure this has much more to do with the crimes they plan on committing in the next two years than crimes of the past. People will hesitate to follow Trump’s illegal orders if they get the sense they may actually be held accountable.

The Justice Department's last-second letters about noncitizen voting contain people with no history of voting whatsoever, and they're moving so fast they sloppily sent one county the wrong list of names.

That it'll fail because they lack sufficient consolidation and centralized control does not make it trivial that the president of the United States is trying to steal elections and produce an illegitimate sham Congress. It is open rebellion against the Constitution and morally tantamount to treason.

The New York Times just put out this credulous bullshit that claims Iran is getting ready to attack, citing Trump officials. This is clearly a way for Trump to justify more heavy bombing. It’s so fucking irresponsible to position it like this.

BREAKING: The Trump DOJ just sent letters to local election officials across California — every county in the state — demanding they identify potential noncitizens on their voter rolls and set aside their ballots. Local officials would "risk significant federal scrutiny" if they failed to comply.

At least this is good news for Cuba since we’ll never be able to leave the Strait of Hormuz without allowing an expensive new toll system created by Iran.

U.S. airlines are increasingly willing to fly with empty seats rather than slash fares, betting that disciplined pricing and flight schedules will help protect profits at a time of soaring fuel costs.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

It's obviously dumb to apply how-to-win-elections logic to non-candidates who are reacting out of moral outrage. But standing by this position is essential because if Matt acknowledges that his ability to predict what makes candidates successful is wrong, it kneecaps his entire approach.
