Wasn't something I planned but solar power will end up being about 80% of my working life, and I couldn't be prouder of stories like this.

Jan Rosenow@janrosenow.bsky.social

Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...

At first sight I was trying to figure out if the front end was parked over a mirror?!? Ugh, sorry, it's heresy to put a body kit on what is one of the best looking sports cars ever made.

As one of the candidates featured in these polls - the infamous one in late June that showed me plummeting into single digits (which was at odds with our internals) - here's the impact of this "experiment"

TIL Stan's will seal an inner tube puncture on a road bike 🤯 Before my ride today I noticed sealant spatted on the seat tube (from last week's ride), the tire only needed a couple psi, so it was a small puncture that sealed quickly. Rode on it today with no issues, crazy.

Need to spread the word that this works great on EVs too, “Yep Cleet, ya just got to suck on them wires to get it flowin!”

President Signs Executive Order Legalizing Siphoning Neighbor's Car

One day left to stream "Everyone Is Lying to You for Money"! I watched last night, really enjoyed. I was already a crypto skeptic, but this was a well made documentary, great interviews, beautifully shot, and also felt very personal. I've also never watched "The OC" 😉

Steve Zahn appeared with Tom Hanks in "That Thing You Do", a fun story about music and one hit wonders. Steve Zahn and Colin Hanks appeared in Silo, not contemporaries, but linked by Peter Gabriel songs, Red Rain S2E3, and Here Comes the Flood S3E9. Just thought that was a neat connection.

Of course, one assumes Mr White would *not* have been a fan of Peter Gabriel, he would probably view most of his catalog with similar disdain as Jimmy's B-sides. Maybe "Sledgehammer" though, because it's "snappy". (I'm a huge Peter Gabriel fan, to be clear).

I once interviewed for an interesting job in TN. At lunch (barbecue, really good), was chatting with the plant manager about hobbies, mentioned I was an avid road cyclist. He responded, "Oh, well around here, drivers see cyclists as targets!" I did not accept the job offer.

Two Tennessee college team cyclists were killed, seven others were injured and a driver was criminally charged after he struck team members who were training on a road, officials say.

Sure, PV doesn't generate power at night (when people are mostly asleep and loads are lowest), but hey, guess what? It's usually producing at max capacity when electric loads are highest.

Welp, guess I'm an outlier in 50-64. Again. (seriously 50-64, wtf is wrong with y'all, you think Ai is showing itself to be *better* year over year?!?)

Pew Research Center@pewresearch.org

For the first time, a majority of adults under 30 say they’re more concerned than excited about #AI. Their concern is now on par with those in their 30s and 40s, and those 65 and up.

Been using CoachCat for training this year. Workouts are fine, but really tiring of the Ai. Rode the Zwift route “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” today, Ai says “That was a great effort on no sleep!” CoachCat is linked to my Whoop data, it knows exactly how much I slept! 🤦‍♂️ #Bikesky

God already built a wall through Big Bend — it's called the Chisos Mountains. We don't need to give billions of our tax dollars to out of state vendors. We don't need to desecrate this sacred land. We don't need this useless, disgraceful, corrupt Big Bend border wall.

Not a fan of super pacs in any form, but like gerrymandering, we need to use all the tools available. And happy to see my industry having enough power to start having an impact.

Josh Marshall@joshtpm.bsky.social

Very interesting. According to Politico a big reason slimeball Rep. Andy Ogles got whacked in Thursday's primary is because he was targeted with $2M by a super pac funded by solar execs. They didn't user solar or enviro arguments. They used standard right wing ... www.politico.com/newsletters/...
