Everyone should read this really informative posting from @zekehausfather.com about the Boreal forests, the Boreal forest fires, and climate change. Expert knowledge and information. bsky.app/profile/zeke...

Zeke Hausfather@zekehausfather.com

The forest management argument, largely valid in a California pine stand, mostly falls apart when you move it a couple of thousand kilometers north. Today's Climate Brink post provides in-depth details as to why: www.theclimatebrink.com/p/canadas-bo...

The mind boggles, absolutely. What a horror show. Utterly dystopian. I can only hope they didn't ban Plato's Symposium. I totally get why they would ban Republic (partially because they misunderstand its thesis). Read the entire thread and stay tuned to when Dr. Hester reveals the entire list.

Trump just wished everyone a ‘happy’ Good Friday, my dude has zero clue as to the story of Jesus which is ironic as a bunch of Evangelical MAGA freaks worship the sorry POS. The only Bible he ever touched was upside fn down.

Maybe you heard somewhere that the COVID-19 pandemic started with a lab leak? NO! That is NOT what the evidence shows. It was not a goddamn lab leak. I’ve had enough. Here is what the evidence shows: it was zoonotic spillover at the market rasmussenretorts.substack.com/p/five-reaso...

This is one of the ways science is destroyed. What amounts to petty vengefulness.

Threatening to dismantle NCAR, our premier weather and climate research institute (apparently) because Colorado refuses to pardon someone accused of tampering with voting machines is a sad example of our current kakistocracy in action… www.nytimes.com/2025...

A great review by Dr. Jacobs of an utterly horrid research project that would NEVER be approved by an IRB/REB. The new gold standard science? This clearly shows why RFK Jr. is such a danger.

@sarahkendzior.bsky.social had the goods on Trump, Epstein, and others years ago. Read her book "They Knew." It will curl your hair when you read the details.

Wouldn’t be surprised if new Lincoln WC had some hidden cameras installed during remodel-would venture to say it’s part of his motivation. That’s a go-to Trump move re: Mar a Lago & TT. Those ‘free’ condos he gave Miss Universe & Apprentice contestants came with a cost. Pervert.

Nobody asked you to renovate a bathroom you dumb bitch. P.S, Trump likes marble because it’s easy to snort Adderall & coke off of especially in humid climates like DC & Palm Beach. Can cut a line right on it.

Another fantastic essay by @noelcaslercomedy.bsky.social. Noel gets to the heart of what makes Trump such a danger. Wonderfully written; searingly insightful. In a nutshell: pay attention to the aesthetics; they tell us much about Trump's deformed character. noelcasler.substack.com/p/breakdown?...

RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.

You can't get much more honest about the potential (and increasingly likely) dangers ahead than this short clip from one of the world's leading experts. We all should be following her and her colleagues.

What if there's a bird flu pandemic, given the sorry state of affairs in US vaccine policy and public health infrastructure? "We are fucked" Whole interview here: open.substack.com/pub/rasmusse...

The first time Charlie Chaplin used his voice in a film, he wielded it to forcefully condemn the rising forces of fascism around the globe. Will we listen to his words today?

Again, as an arts educator, I can't stress enough what a incredible posting this is from @noelcaslercomedy.bsky.social One of his best. He gets to the heart of the power of the arts and how Trump represents a threat to the arts.

This one of Noel's best ever postings. An amazing piece about the power of the arts ... and how Trump can (will likely?) destroy much of what The Kennedy Center offers. Trump's ignorant attacks on the arts are as dangerous as his attacks on science and education.
