I reckon that the Carrick carrying on thing is more about leaning on his obvious love to "do the best thing for the club" to enable a managed transition. Like they have said you are going but keep on until we have the new guy fully signed up. (This is obviously just a guess).

This is lovely stuff. Definitely one for @napierbones.bsky.social

Stop what you are doing and look at this lovely story. A photography student in the 80s took pictures of punks and mods on the street in Preston. He’s now tracked them down and photographed them again. The pictures and stories are really ❤️ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I will be much more interested when Zirkzee puts out a fag and saunters onto the stage to collect it.

Obviously have very little interest in the Ballon D'Or but am mildly pleased for HK and very pleased to imagine Yamal stamping his foot in anger somewhere.

There is a bit of a view on here that relegation would convince the Glazers to sell up. Look, I am no Gordon Gekko but I imagine selling an expensive asset when its value has sunk to its lowest ever point isn't really how rich people got rich in the first place.

Eddie Howe always spoke so sadly in press conferences even when Newcastle were doing pretty well. I can't wait to see the depths of misery we'll have him in by February. His pressers will be some of the darkest, most introspective shit you've ever seen.

Hey Claude. I'm running a campaign to stop AI adoption. Can you come up with a series of use cases that make the population instantly take against the new technology? Present them as positives and attribute them to major leaders in tech companies.

cool, cool

Did wonder how they were going to manage "who the fuck are you..." And they did it by just dumping the song after the intro

Getting a little shiver of joy when I put one of the correctly sized bin liners in the kitchen bin but it's tinged with sadness, because I know I won't ever manage to buy the correct sized ones ever again.

I know he became a bit of a punchline last year but every time I've seen Delap this season he's looked like a proper handful.

Radio 6 taking me back in time today and reminding me just how little interest I ever had in Amy Winehouse. 20 years later I still have zero interest.

Fun fact the word "taser" is a backronym inspired by an 1911 kids adventure book called "Tom Swift And His Electric Rifle" by Victor Appleton

General Boles@generalboles.bsky.social

Someone gave Kemi a taser and she's literally never been happier

It's about the history of the pride in the hard work that creates the togetherness and the humbleness to stick together as a team and as individuals to be humble and respect that resilience that has been built on humbleness and pride in the history of resilience and hard work of this football club

Personal Trainer last night did nothing to weaken my conviction that they are one of the best live bands currently doing it.

Today's one was him having to say "The stadium lights are on but that's no excuse for not using Pakistan's No1 Factor 60 sunblock b/c the UV doesn't take a break after the sun's gone down." Er, yes it does, Mark. That's kind of how *sun*burn works, mate...

The best bit about watching England cricket games from the Indian subcontinent is laughing at Mark Butcher having to shoehorn ads for local products in. "That's a clean shirt, Ravi...did you wash it using Pakistan's premier washing machine brand, Patel's Washers? Prices start at 73,000 rupees."

One interesting thing about United is when we did well end of last season all of the ITK takes were "ah, but actually the real stroke of genius is Steve Holland as assistant" and now we are completely shit his name is never ever fucking mentioned.

TBF people are pretty fucking shit hot at mimicking empathy too.

Social Market Foundation@smfthinktank.bsky.social

🚨 NEW POLLING🚨 AI is now so good at mimicking empathy that many people prefer it to their friends. 1 in 5 UK adults have used an AI chatbot for personal or relationship advice – and 54% of them found it more helpful than talking to friends or family.

This knobhead describes "going to the pub" as "doing a community walk to keep the community safe" I'm definitely gonna start saying that whenever I pop for a pint.
