Permanent Pie Consuming Class

@chemmefatale.bsky.social

I know you wanted me to stay away from social media, But I can't ignore the crazy rants I have on here, And I heard that there's a special place, Where boys and girls can have hot takes every single day Hire me to be a housing thot leader.

Just because I think about doing violent things to really callous and idiotic people doesn't mean I am actually going to do it..

I had to sit at the party and listen to people who were: 1) Jewish and from the Bay Area 2) Gasped at the idea that my parents met and lived in Israel somehow (despite them being from the USSR, not convenient for US immigration) And I just wanted to stab a fork into their eyeballs.

I would be so angry about what he said about Rob Reiner if not for the fact that the 25th Amendment is right there and no one is even bothering to mention it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: A number of Republicans have denounced your statement on Rob Reiner. Do you stand by it? TRUMP: Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.

The Cinnabon article reminds me of the things that don't work about leftism/socialism and are positive about capitalism. Namely allowing people to behave badly. Don't worry, I'm not a libertarian, I just think that economic consequences can be the best behavioral consequences.

As irritated as I am about lawmakers doing jack nothing about this, I think the public is partially responsible too. Electing another party to office is not going to solve this crisis. People are just dumb.

CalMatters@calmatters.org

Earlier this year, the director of CalTrans presented this chart to members of the state Senate’s Transportation Committee, showing a dramatic rise in deaths on California's roads. No lawmakers asked about the chart. Or what CalTrans was doing about it. 1/9

You can create as many laws around this as you like, but there has to be a buy in, otherwise you will see political backlash and even more annoying consequences. I think we should just make the gas price so high that people need to make a consumer switch to mass transit.

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there. Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

Nah young people are brainwashed by TikTok, and they don't really understand what they stand for. That's why I'm pretty sure I need to get out now.

@brendannyhan.bsky.social is right: young people are reluctant to come to the defense of institutions that have excluded them, ignored them, and crushed their movements www.nytimes.com/2025/11/24/o...

Let's stop calling anything these companies do research. Any research facebook touches implies serious ethical challenges and conflict of interest.

Meta halted internal research that purportedly showed (young) people who stopped using Facebook became less depressed and anxious, according to an unredacted legal filing released on Friday. www.cnbc.com/2025/11/23/m...

I was so deeply disappointed whenever any YIMBY activist group would try to justify inclusionary zoning.

Inclusionary zoning is not just terrible policy. It’s also extremely neoliberal policy that outsources a key state function—providing subsidized housing for poor people—to private, market-based actors and shifts the financial burden for the subsidies from wealthy homeowners to middle class renters.

So-called “inclusionary zoning” is a tax on new housing that reduces the amount of housing that gets built, worsening the housing shortage and driving up rent. It is bad, counterproductive policy and we should stop doing it.

Building housing is a left issue. Taxing housing to build housing means less housing. Less housing means more pressure on your housing market and higher rents. Build the housing. And don’t let NIMBYs stop or slow us downs

Former Rep. David Valadao as of November 2026

Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur.bsky.social

Rep. David Valadao, R-Calif., supports the Kiggans bill for a 1-year ACA funding extension (he's one of 14 GOP cosponsors). He told me last night he has no current plans to sign a discharge petition or "do anything discharge-related" on ACA to defy party leaders and force a vote.
