Hey #dotnet - I'm headed to #MSBuild this year! I'll be there all week talking about AI-Assisted modernization, but I'd love to talk with you about the .NET SDK and CLI, MSBuild, or other fundamentals as well! Looking forward to seeing everybody!

3) MSBuild's Multithreaded mode is freaking awesome now! We've made many core Tasks multithread-safe, so most common project types see a _good_ speedup on 'cold' builds and a _really good_ speedup on 'warm' builds. There are plenty more Tasks to go, but now is the time to try it out!

Task authors can start poking at their own Tasks now if you like - but I'd wait a bit for us to start publishing our Task authoring analyzer to help you along your journey.

1) the dotnet CLI is at least partially AOT'd now! Many commands get a ~250ms boost for free as a result of this, and more are coming! We're working on file-based apps coming into the AOT bubble, as well as builds, templates and tool installation.

2) MSBuild uses Server mode by default! This is a small win for local inner loop today, and the foundation of larger wins in the future! Subsequent builds will now re-use warm caches and evaluation-time loading. Future work here will bring more smarts, like VS-style up to date checks.

Today I'm releasing AotAnywhere, a package which enables cross platform publishing support for dotnet NativeAOT. Before this package you had to use multiple different runners, with AotAnywhere you can publish for all targets from any single host. This is continuing the great work of @migeel.sk

Absolutely awe inspiring - and it's proof that Trump and his cadre aren't invincible. They can be broken. Congressional Democrats need to be calling for removals, impeachments and prosecutions of these assholes _yesterday_.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember: - Organized a city wide general strike - Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence - Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE - Flipped public opinion against ICE

Introduce yourself as what almost killed you: Hi, I'm a wind gust that almost pushed your moped off a cliff face! Bonus from the same trip: Hi, I'm the receding tide off the north shore of O'ahu!

Hegseth needs to be in jail for the rest of his life, and that’s the moderate option.

How in the hell do you come off a result like last Tuesday and then pull this kind of shit? The resounding message of Tuesday was to STICK TO YOUR PRINCIPLES, not bow to insane demands. My entire adult life has been this asshole and those like him fumbling the bag.

Chuck Schumer@schumer.senate.gov

Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis For the millions who will lose coverage For people with cancer who won't get the care they need For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare We will keep fighting

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.

Matthew Noe@noethematt.bsky.social

If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Now that #dotnet code coverage will be coming to #visualstudio professional 2026, is there perhaps also any info on Testcase Impact Analysis ( #TIA) for #azuredevops CI/CD pipelines (as far as I can tell it was never supported for .Net Core?)

One of the best things that I've done this year is get back into choral singing - it's reconnected me with a part of myself that I haven't engaged with in ~15 years! Making music with other people has always been an almost religious experience for me, and I didn't realize how much I missed it!

So apparently my client has decided that we should (1) start using Cursor, and (2) show up at the office four days a week. After more than 6 years there, I’m thinking this might be my cue to eject. Anyone looking for a coder for a remote gig (or hybrid in Stockholm)?

Hegseth: "You should not pay for an earnest mistake for your entire career. That's why today, at my direction, we're making changes to the retention of adverse information on personnel records."

One gap in the .NET ecosystem specifically that I've seen is that there's not a good VT parsing library that can take an input stream and give you a structured set of tokens, so you can ignore the codes in favor of the actual text, etc. A lot of our tests are fragile because of that....

Big Money is powerful, but it’s nothing compared to people power. In just 12 hours, our campaign raised $1 million from thousands of Texans across the state. This is a campaign of, by, and for the people.

I wrote an OpenCLI extension for System.CommandLine while having a beer at the pub. Works pretty well if you ask me! Also, I'm probably doing the whole pub thing wrong... 😅
