As part of our overview of resistance to ICE around the country, we present a report from Austin, Texas, where people gathered in protest after ICE shot Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez in the back.
The authors explore why we must hold police responsible for ICE attacks.

New: Before Renée and Alex, ICE fatally shot Mexican immigrant Silverio Villegas González last fall outside Chicago in suburban Franklin Park.
One year later, @domguan.bsky.social spent some time with the group of local women tending to his memorial. His family is still demanding answers:
"A second incident occurred around 1 p.m. Sept. 7, when about 130 detainees began throwing items, flipping furniture and disabling security cameras, according to DHS.
The agency said the detainees caused significant damage to the detention facility and other property." www.ktsm.com/news/nationa...
One of the enigmas of the second Trump administration is that the fascist street activity of 2017-2020 has not returned. But as Trump’s grip weakens, we will likely see the far right return to the streets.
We should track what fascists are trying to do today and to block them every step of the way.
STRIKE ALERT: Prisoners across the U.S. will stage a National Prisoners' Human Rights Strike from May Day through June 19 (Juneteenth), 2027, uniting the fight to end legalized slavery with the struggle to restore voting rights to the prison class Jailhouselawyersspeak.com@jaillawspeak.bsky.social
a glaring omission from much of the convo about the Delaney Hall labor and hunger strike imo is the fact that *these people shouldn't be laboring in the first place*
this is slavery, & even the 13th Amendment's 'punishment for a crime' exception doesn't apply!

Here's the thing...many ICE agents just drove a couple hundred feet further down the road and drove through the grass to get to their facility without interacting with protesters at all.
This agent had other options to get to where he wanted to go, but he chose the path straight through the crowd.
A grand juror asked whether the agent could have stopped the SUV: "Isn't the right thing to do to stop?"
Mecklenburg: "Well, didn't you hear the testimony that he said he was afraid to stop because he was afraid they were going to break the windows and pull him out and he would be injured?"
DHS has confirmed this was an ICE "targeted enforcement operation."
The man they targeted, a Polish national, is currently being held in the Miami Correctional Center in Bunker Hill, Indiana, per the ICE detainee locator system.
The Miami Correctional Center sits next to Grissom Air Reserve Base.
Earlier today rapid responders reported federal agents detaining someone on Grace & Olcott in Chicago.
A nearby resident got video of an unmarked SUV striking a red car at high speed in the residential area around 10:24 am.
He then described seeing men in tactical vests on scene, one marked "ICE."
Join us June 11th for a panel discussion with formerly incarcerated anarchist prisoners. We will discuss the state of repression, and how we can support our comrades who are serving sentences for their work struggling to free us all.
7:00 pm EST, Thursday 6/11.

JUST IN: Chicago U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros says he is implementing "sweeping reforms to internal grand jury practices" in the wake of the "Broadview Six" revelations:
Daily Memo: Around 500 People Are Now On A Hunger Strike at Five ICE Detention Centers Across the U.S.
It started with one man from Cuba at the Torrance County Detention Facility in New Mexico, who has been in ICE detention since last August.

I have a new piece out
Reflecting on 20 years of migrant struggles, it goes into what abolish ICE does - and doesn't - mean; merging of immigration enforcement with policing & military power; and how fascism is made through bordering.
Despite resisting it for so long, I also now define the border.
