Further proof that Carneys announcements are unserious

Helping automakers build #ElectricVehicles is an important step in building a domestic auto industry that can compete in the growing global EV market. But by delaying the implementation of stronger vehicle pollution rules, affordable EVs are now even further out of reach for Canadians. #cdnpoli

Absolutely correct. Carney is awarding opportunity AND financing to his corporate buds, some of who are American. He is selling us out.

Carney is doing irritable damage where he doesn’t need to. He isn’t for Canada, unless it’s Corporate Canada

I've worked with both Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford. Mayor Chow acts. Councillor Bradford is mostly talk. How can we expect someone to serve our city well when they've failed to serve their own ward?

An astonishingly stupid idea. It is a miracle that toronto has exploded in population without experiencing massive water. Infrastructure challenges. Water infrastructure is the most important infrastructure we have. He clearly has not heard of Thames water in the UK. What an idiot.

David Hamer@davidhamer1951.bsky.social

Yet another extraordinarily good reason not to vote for Brad Bradford to be Mayor of Toronto: he would meddle with our public drinking water. 🤷🏼🙄🤷🏼 #topoli www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

The RCMP is culturally broken. This is the same organization that messed up the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting. It’s a police force with too many varied responsibilities and questionable executive integrity. In short, it can’t be trusted.

A perfect illustration of Carney’s fraudulent climate change commitments. What he once viewed as an ‘existential crisis’ is not something to be ignored. The man is a threat to Canadians. Canada’s clean car breakdown continues as burnermobiles hit record www.nationalobserver.com/2026/10/13/a...

This is appalling. The spineless MPs are a huge disappointment, but it is not a huge surprise. MP’s could have meaningful influence, but historically they are inclined to roll over and acquiesce to anything. Carney may also be a bully… substack.com/@rachelgilmo...

Let’s remember that the guy running this government will trade the rights and health of Canadians to benefit his corporate buddies in a heartbeat. This is astonishingly abusive.

gizmodo.com/this-toronto... Mozilla, DuckDuckGo, Signal and additional VPN providers will end operations in Canada. But, Meta, Twitter, Google can continue unabated! Carneyheads, please explain how this improves lives for Canadians?

It is a travesty. Ford is doing everything possible to demolish Ontario. His approach to education is not much better.

Ontario Nurses’ Association@ontarionurses.bsky.social

Ford's plans to shift towards health care privatization is costing Ontarians more money and time! https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/how-doug-ford-s-health-plan-costs-taxpayers-billions-and-privatization-is-making-it-fail/article_46cdf5e5-41c3-4585-96b6-bf5927027078.html #onpoli #onhealth

This is appalling but not at all surprising. Our Canadian government won't criticize Israel's genocide. We certainly should not expect it to come to the defense of a man who will.

You'd think it would be bigger news that a US owned national newspaper in Canada is publishing violent threats towards the only Jewish leader of a major political party in the country

The layoffs — occurring just three days before President Donald Trump's rally on Saturday at a nearby high school — were large enough to basically erase an entire year of job growth in the greater Dayton, Ohio, area. https://to.pbs.org/4zgbIuz

Carney's first-ever project designated as being in the “national interest" is...a crude oil pipeline. That means the oil pipeline can bulldoze past environmental laws, impact assessments, and Indigenous consultation. It can also kill all of Vancouver's orcas. Here's what you need to know:

Hey, Toronto. Don't trust Brad Bradford.

Canada's National Observer@nationalobserver.com

This morning — following two investigations into Toronto mayoral candidate Brad Bradford's use of an app that rewards supporters for posting AI-generated comments and sharing contacts — Bradford called our reporting "inaccurate." We're now releasing the recording that proves our reporting.

We don’t have the same political donation rules, but we have also experienced a downward implosion of tax rates. It is not just personal tax rates that have been cut. Corporate tax rates have been also cut and federal revenues from corporate taxes are now a fraction of those from personal taxes.

The U.S. owes $40 trillion in debt. Everyone has an opinion about why. But there’s one question you almost never hear asked: Who’s actually getting paid?

I am encouraged. A CA friend suggested I meet Laura Dean, Toronto's 117th mayoralty candidate. So I met her briefly this morning. She knows how Toronto works, she's smart, and she actually has sensible ideas. I encourage you to check her out: lauradeanformayor.ca

Do you know how much the pay of CEOs at major companies has skyrocketed since 1978? 50%? 100%? 500%? Try 1,316% Meanwhile, the typical workers’ compensation increased only 28%. This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Canadians are not Carney’s priority. His corporate buddies matter much more to him. And his fellow Liberal MPs are going to realize they have elected a very dangerous man.

Rachel Gilmore@rachelgilmore.bsky.social

“This bill explicitly gives government the power to end legal strikes when a minister decides that a strike is or could become contrary to the national interest — and the national interest is defined solely by the opinion of the minister,” warns top labour leader Bea Bruske. Holy shit. This is bad.

When Australia let foreign capital take the kind of control over their airports that Carney is proposing in Canada, Brisbane airport raised its per-passenger fees by more than two thirds, and travellers were squeezed for more than $1.6 billion in extra fees. shrlnk.ca/s/zJo0ZyYu
