It's funny shirt design time! The women's tank top comes in four colors; the T-shirt in six. All have this lovely "Misgender the Patriarchy" text in the trans pride flag colors. Be one of the first 25 people to make an order of at least $50 (two shirts!) and use code EARLYCUSTOMER for 15% off.

entirely misinterpreted what this was about initially, but I *did* just think of an AI disassembly project you could get behind, namely the one where we have the AIs messily disassemble the nearest techbros

PRESS START TO RICH — i really want to finish my disassembly of those pieces of shit alterspring.org/@Xkeeper/a/1...

oh, hey, @orionstellarisvt.bsky.social - if you didn't notice this earlier... note the "...adding buttons for... ko-fi" part of that dunno how many people will necessarily hammer that button, buuuuuuuuuut

I'm remembering the days when I was part of the effort trying to reverse-engineer Chrono Cross on chronocompendium.com. Our notes *absolutely* looked 10x worse than these. If I were helping a project like that again, I *still* wouldn't use AI for it.

from the datacrystal nonsense a bit ago, the person behind it finally posted their raw notes (along with a big angry allcaps "don't ever use this for tcrf" note 😄)... and like, if they had just posted these in the first place, everything would've been gravy! these look fine!

Now, that said, I'm not in the "no AI for anything, ever" camp - my standpoint is that if you know what the hell you're doing, AND can write your own code to handle testing what AI puts out with a ridiculous amount of coverage, it's useful to speed your work up. Those are both high bars to clear!

My personal usage? I'll use it as kind of a smart copy-and-paste/auto-complete at most (for example, in the process of trying to port the C99 code in Crafting Interpreters into C++20, where I could verify that yes, the new version of the lines match up with the old versions).

Because the world (or, at least, Argentum OS) needs a cleanroom implementation of a Hypercard clone... that has been the project for the last couple of days. I, uh, kinda forgot just how many words HyperTalk (or, in this case, its reworked-for-normal-x64-hardware rehash, Esperanza) has.

So, instead, I'm doing this in a rather odd fashion: Outer switch: as in the book, by first character. Middle switches: by length of potential token! This lets me break apart a *lot* of similar-prefix tokens into different buckets. Inner switches: as in the book's second tier, by second character.

There *may* be some keywords that require a fourth layer - as I said, there are a *lot* of them to check through - but this reduces the depth this has to process through, improving code readability. (It might be slower than just nesting to ugly depths, but I figure the tradeoff here is worthwhile.)

Into the weeds: Q: so why am I using a three-level-deep nested switch for this? A: If I modeled this strictly on the clox nested-switch trie walker in "Scanning on Demand", unfortunately, we have keywords that are ambiguous out to *nine* characters (mouseDown vs. mouseDownInPicture, specifically).

optimist: the glass is half full pessimist: the glass is half empty Trump: it's gonna be a yuge glass, the most fantastic glass, and it's going to dispense Diet Coke all day long, also the glass shards in McDonald's are fake news, thank you for your attention to this matter

we would like to wish Bethesda a happy 40th "what is this p̸̡̧̦̬̪͙̦̞̙͉͓͔̀̏̓̄̈̂͒̈͊͛́̊͘h̸͇͉͙͇̺͓̲̰́͋̈́̒̆̐̚͝͝ŷ̶̢̡̧̝͎̝͙̘̥̞̺̒̿͝ş̷͔͖͕͉̤̩̬̠͍̠͌̏̿̇̒́̕͝͝ȉ̵͓͐̍͒́͝c̵̛̙̱͂̃͌̀͌̕͝͝͝ṩ̷̡̼̟̞͎̦͉̜͍̥̆̑̅̃͐̅͠͠ͅ you speak of"

(whose idea was it to use T5 Torx screws on this, I have a perfectly good T6 bit but noooooooooooooooooo, gee thanks, Lenovo) (also wouldn't mind busting past the posted mark, say, to $420, which would let me add a 2TB SSD, 512GB isn't enough either and I play older games!)
