Just released on digital/CD, new album of modular and other synth excursions, ably mastered by Mark Beazley (Rothko, Band of Holy Joy). Marking 15 years of this project. This one's my favorite FWIW tagcloud2.bandcamp.com/album/the-ot...

Opening this cool show in DC at ernie's Place March 7 supporting The Southern Ocean and the excellent Youth in Government. The latter includes a co-conspirator in That Cloud. Some shoegazy pop and ooening with noisy ambient modular sounds. I may have a new CD on hand if I get them soon.

kinodisk.bandcamp.com/album/archiv... Massive collection of minimal electronic dub currently in heavy rotation. This was a real find.

Great noisy ambient, massive at times, but also rewards close listening. Highly recommrnded. kirigirisurecordings.bandcamp.com/album/ghosts...

Some very good shoegaze informed maybe by stuff like Seefeel at times. southpacificofficial.bandcamp.com/album/consta...

yep! unpaywalled:

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

danielmenche.bandcamp.com/album/veer Fantastic new long-form piece for field recordings of metal and double bass.

Despite the devastation of a local stream "restoration," a heron showed up this afternoon. A hopeful sign maybe.

Happy 101st birthday to Marshall Allen, leader of the Sun Ra Arkestra Revisit our review of his latest album, 'New Dawn'

Anthony Moore's underappreciated "Flying Doesn't Help". Not so far from the likes of Here Come the Warm Jets.

Want a tangible way to resist? Here's your homework. Follow the instructions in this super guide from our amazing friends at @fedworkersunited.bsky.social to comment by May 23 on the proposed Schedule F rule, which would remove civil service protections for a huge swath of the federal workforce.

A heads up if you're in or near DC, Roger Miller (Mission of Burma, Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, etc.) will be playing solo at Rhizome DC on 5/9. Support is, well, me, doing a modular synth set. If you've heard Miller's recent dream interpretation pieces, you won't want to miss.

Musk’s status as a “special government employee” limits him to 130 days in the executive branch. However, despite working daily—documented by his own X posts—they claim he only works one day a week, effectively stretching his limit to 130 weeks. This needs to be brought to Congress—please share.

I hope Republicans who received "assurances" about their "concerns" with the various unqualified cabinet appointees they voted for will follow up and hold them accountable. Not holding my breath.
