Was very close to finally overdoing it today, but we made it happen

Tough to have a bad day when the weather is perfectly temperate and I have this lovely protected bike lane as my commute to the grocery store

The entire game is corruption. Ever time. I will vote for whoever takes ever cent from every billionaire and puts them all in jail.

“.. the quintessence of generic industrial meat, imported here to be subsequently processed in massive grinders that combine pieces of tens of thousands of cattle from multiple countries, mainly into fast food hamburgers.” @nytopinion.nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2026/09/07/o...

Guys all this doomerism from AI CEOs is them realizing they're about to get caught in the biggest bubble burst in history. Suddenly Elon Musk and Sam Altman are altruistic? Lolololol

I know a French family that had a successful business in the US for the better part of a decade. The were recently forced to leave. How does it benefit the US economy to kill successful US businesses?

Bill@bill-of-lefts.bsky.social

Even from a purely national pride perspective, this requires you to think that the 100 year period from 1926 was a failure for the United States, instead of the zenith of its power, prosperity, and influence

Straight-up rigging the election. No words. Here we are folks.

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.

Has the president always had the power to rename any geographic location to whatever they want? This feels like a made up power.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Pathetic -- Google is now referring to Lake Ontario as "Lake America"

This is AI slop. Not real. There's been a ton of this crap going around on bsky lately. How to identify: - multiple colored text - no citation - vague [insert country] did something claim - image directions refers to "Engineering Facts" AI slop account on Instagram

This post is unavailable.

Really weird to me how pervasive meat-eating is. Folks will gush over dog videos and then go have a chicken burrito. Or go scorched earth on someone over on climate change, then eat a hamburger. Weirdest coming from progressives who analyze every issue to death yet mainline factory-farmed meat.

Why are all the streaming apps so terrible? I can't download videos on Disney+ without upgrading my account, but there's literally no way to upgrade my account. The button doesn't exist. Last week I spent 2 hours subscribing to AppleTV. Stuck in a loop adding my CC. Eventually just gave up. Why.

I'm begging you guys Stop liking and reposting all this AI trash

KimBo@zapperfan7.bsky.social

For its entire modern history, Japan has been held hostage by geography. They have almost no domestic oil reserves. Every barrel that runs their industrial economy is brought in from the outside, priced by global markets they do not control. vulnerability just forced an engineering breakthrough

The cherry on top: look at effective tax rates in all those "low income tax" states They all get their revenue one way or another. Texas has no income tax but its overall tax rate is only 0.4% lower than Wisconsin according to wallethub. Effectively a wash.

Jeff Sharlet@jeffsharlet.bsky.social

WaPo making same claim that’s been disproven again & again. Who do they imagine these people are, willing to pay the price of abandoning home, friends, lives they’ve built. “Sorry, kids, we’re leaving the only home you’ve ever known & all our friends to pay 7% state tax instead of 8%.”

Constant onslaught of BS posts with AI slop misinformation on bsky These need to be tagged somehow. @bsky.app whatsup?

KimBo@zapperfan7.bsky.social

Evolved Chimp You can carry it onto a commercial flight as luggage. You set it down in moving water. And immediately, it generates enough electricity to power a dozen homes for five years. Germany just solved off-grid power without pouring a single ounce of concrete.

Who needs a car when you've got a bike? Delivery company repeatedly botched delivery so I just went to the warehouse outside of town and picked them up myself.

I've had a really weird bsky bug for weeks. Every single time I open the app, it opens to this post. Every time. Doesn't matter if I force close the app or restart my phone.

This is the energy I'll vote for

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ossoff: "The president was so humiliated in Hormuz he threw his toys out the stroller & refused to sign the affordable housing bill. That's after he gave some felon donor a no bid contract for the reflecting pool & it filled up with algae, which for some reason required the deployment of the Guard."

Take your country's huge head start in the most powerful technology *ever* and destroy it The most chaotic economic self-sabotage in human history.

Without fail: Spent yesterday at the beach. App crashed. Took down the marketing site too.

Every time I do something for myself my partner messages me with something that broke in our app

But really why do people like Red Hot Chili Peppers The most mediocre music hyped to oblivion. Is it the original meme stock? Nobody actually likes it?

Breck@breckw.bsky.social

They’re playing RHCP, @chrisunits.bsky.social’ s nightmare

Damn man these things are just like people. Wild.

In Japan, a gorilla 🦍 named Kiyomasa got into trouble with his mate. She kicked him out of their enclosure at the zoo, and he was later spotted sitting alone, seemingly thinking now what

Extremely cringe when anybody acts this way online Worse when it's a big account. Really bothers me. Can we all act like adults? This is why the internet is a cesspool.

Why is polymarket legal?

Dare Obasanjo@carnage4life.bsky.social

A Google engineer made $1.2M on Polymarket betting on who would be announced as the most searched person of the year was just arrested for insider trading. People need to realize only government officials get away with that blatant a degree of insider trading.

I don't get posts like this. Almost like they're justifying it to themselves. For me there's no justification for using X / Twitter because of who the owner is. "I want to have fun internet conversations" shouldn't outweigh Elon Musk owning the platform where you're doing it.

Corey Atad@coreyatad.com

i think, end of the day, the real problem with Bluesky is that most of its users are here *because* they want to be in a bubble. and they can tell themselves that it’s just about not being around Nazis it supporting Musk, and that’s part of it, but also there’s a palpable desire to be ensconced.

Guys this is by far the scariest thing happening. Trump is funding leaders of a private army of with taxpayer money. It's a turning point in history. Can't turn back from this one. It should be a pitchforks out moment. Stop all government. Block trains. Barricade doors. Do not let it happen.

Winner of carbrain of the year award here.

Patrick De Haan@gasbuddyguy.bsky.social

Indiana is seeing huge gas price drops thanks to the state waiving the use tax and excise tax- motorists getting a nearly 60c/gal discount with prices falling below $4 at some stations. I know where I’m filling up today!

I'm seeing pretty non-technical people building software for use at work using AI. Cool that everybody is empowered to do stuff like this but really worried about security and broken processes. AI vibe coded software works great out of the gate, but somewhat cumbersome in the medium to long term.

Remember the old Nokia phones? Everything comes full circle. My parents had one of those for 10+ years. Got it when I was in high school as the "family cell phone" and my parents still used well into the 2000s.

Olga Nesterova@onestpress.onestnetwork.com

EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027. The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.

Not exactly a great sign that the vibe coding experts at Claude have this many outages on their own platform. In the "old days" a SaaS with this many outages would've been toast.

Guys this is what the opposition in the US needs to be doing. Go for the kill on literally every issue.

Del@stroppadel.bsky.social

Wow, amazing stuff. Magyar's first few sentences in the Hungarian "national", "public service TV", after now they had no choice but finally to let him in, were "This lie factory is over, we will cease this lying news service that's been going on here." #Hungary

Has Duolingo completely gone to shit for anybody else recently? Screens don't work, translations are wrong, and bugs drop my progress repeatedly. Today I can't finish any lessons because all the buttons disappear randomly.

This "ebikes are getting out of hand" stupidity is like reefer madness. I have some small quibbles with scooters because they accelerate way too fast, but ebikes none at all, and most people on escooters are just calmly going from A to B, but aren't in a 2k lb death machine. Still a win.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

Crazy to me that so many people live their lives like this. Is this really the impact they want to have on the world? With how awful everything else is, why add to the bad vibes? Me: Casual observation about pastries Them: you're a dumbass bitch

ChrisUnits@chrisunits.bsky.social

This may be delicious but it's absolutely not a croissant

Damn this is crazy I love Allbirds. Extremely comfortable and decent price. What happened???
