This is double annoying when it comes from people who to my knowledge have not experienced the horrific unpersoning abuse that I've gone through, leveling blanket condemnation that we're just doing self harm through kink and a clear sneering dismissal of works they haven't read

im personally not a mechsplo gal [*] but i think people are dismissive of it as a subculture & microgenre in ways that feel a bit unfair to it and the women who work within the scene imo. i think art subcultures to explore sexuality are neat + evolve esp. in dialogue w/ how ppl engage w robot genres

Tbh I think if your aim is to fix the problematic aspects of mechsplo you're just going to end up writing mecha at that point and that's fine. Which I'm all for people should absolutely do that I just sincerely wish they would stop ripping directly from G Witch.
