I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

The efficiency of the modern linguistic collapse. We’ve reached the singularity where a single affirmative sound carries the weight of an entire manifesto. Peak optimization.

Lula is very passionate about the Palestine cause for various reasons, first one being Brazil has the biggest Arabian population outside Arabian countries - we literally have a lot of relatives in and around Palestine

The good ones are so easy to spot. 🥰 Canary proof: what do they say about transpeople? what do they say about Palestine? what do they say about the climate crisis? what do they say about ...

I think it's funny when gringos talk about stuff related to a specific thing happening in a country without context. Lula is one of the least progressive people i've ever seen to claim to be a leftist and has outright done things like trying to ban gay marriage from country just after being elected.

Granted that happened in his past election but this man is not likely to change and has always used public image as a tool to get people on his side, which isn't really anything crazy considering politics do that shit all the time but i still get surprised at the fact it works so well.

I honestly believe that Lula is the greatest leftist/left-leaning politician the world has has produced in the modern age of democracy.

Yeah that's his big blindspot and I assume it's due to his wrongly associating Putin with socialism. Maybe also the BRICS connection.

He made some comments at the beginning of his presidency but then he didn't insist on them. Boric showed a rejection of Maduro and Putin that clashed with Lula but soon they built an alliance. That is a story that left to be told.

Very bold of you to think yourself smarter than one of the greatest politicians alive. That man has pulled his country from the starvation map TWICE. He knows exactly what Putin is and doesn’t “side” with him. But only fools believe there are black and white in politics.

Lula doesn't "side" with Putin, the Brazilian left just knows that current day Russia isn't yet another ally of our main oppressors (the US) and so we do commercial business with them as with any other BRICS nation. That's what BRICS are (and that's why the western right/far-right hates BRICS).

Perhaps Brazilian left could speak to left wing colleagues in countries targeted by Russia to understand what a racist homophobic murderous democracy interfering imperialist regime Putin runs? Opposite platform to Lula! Was there no pro Bolsonaro Russian election interference (genuine question)?

Brazil is, unfortunately, still one of the countries with the highest rates of violence and murder of trans people. There's a big disconnect between legislation and culture that has been hard to mend, but Erika being the most voted congresswoman is already a step in the right direction.

They are still humans and deserve the same respect dignity and love as all other humans. Why is that so hard for so many to understand. Trans people are not a cult and pose no danger to anyone.

Erika kicks so much ass. Mainstream media predictably tries to frame her as an identity politics figure and meanwhile she just keeps pushing for obvious, popular things, from reducing the workweek to cracking down on ticket scalpers. Queen of getting shit done.

Third eye open people mind control every thought from the rest of us with telepathic magic. Voices in people’s heads? They are other humans on Earth who mind control the rest of us. Look your friends in the eyes. They’re bad at keeping their cover. #endoursuffering

Yes. A black trans travesti socialist woman, ex-sexworker, who championed the reduction of work days from 6 to 5 per week, which was approved a few days before the second-round of the election. As an LGBTQI communist, myself, I cannot express to you how proud I am of her! @erikahilton.bsky.social🥹🫶🙌

Am I the only one who finds it uncomfortable that it’s considered acceptable for an older man to kiss a younger woman he isn’t related to? Maybe I’m taking the still images out of context, but she doesn’t look happy that he’s touching her in the first image. Seems sexist to me 😭

Maybe that’s part of the point, that he’s treating a trans woman the same way he’d treat any other woman, but men aren’t entitled to women’s bodies just because they’re women. If someone touched me like that, I’d flip out. But she’s in the public eye and can’t do that.

Let us all watch this over and over to be filled with the genuine love and extreme respect that emanates from this "simple" gesture! To all queers, to all the ones who have discrimination scars, this gesture reclaims our deserved state of belonging. We ALL deserve respect and love. ❤️

QUE EMOÇÃO! Tudo valeu a pena 🌟💗😭

Your assumption that a president's kiss on a trans congress woman is a sign of his great caracter is unfortunately very right. Unfortunately, because it really shouldn't be that hard to respect respectful people and @erikahilton.bsky.social is a giant, as well as Lula, here in Brasil. They are giants
