Embarrassed that it took me this long to pay up. I've been relying on Aaron since 2020. Anyone who doesn't follow him literally cannot understand who Trump is. Posting to encourage anyone else who's been putting off becoming a paid subscriber.

It'll be the 5-year anniversary of PN on Oct. 5! Going independent was the best career decision I've made but it wouldn't be possible without paid subscribers. I'm currently offering yearly subs to PN for $40, or 16¢ per edition. If you appreciate my coverage, please support my work by signing up!

i don’t know how to make it any plainer that the vast majority of dem voters believe holding people accountable IS part of “getting back to work”

Meredith Shiner@meredithshiner.com

I had not seen this clip where Tammy Duckworth advises Democrats to "not impeach anybody," "get back to work" and "allow" Donald Trump to "save face" and I would just like to remind the senator from IL that the federal government took 4,000 Chicagoans and murdered a 38-year-old father last fall.

I'm mostly a "socialize healthcare and housing" guy, but I'd also be pleased to see this kind of focus on strategy going forward.

Kamala Harris: I know this is going to be controversial coming from me in particular, we need to revisit the electoral college. We need to revisit the point of expanding the court. We need to revisit, if they so want, statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C.

Wait. They all shake hands at the end? What are we even doing here? He's the US President suing you for $20 billion for reporting on the birthday card he sent his friend the pedophile in which he drew a naked girl & mused about secrets. And they all shake hands?

Remarkable camera angle of President Trump as he listens to Wall Street Journal reporters receiving an award for their investigation into Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — which they pursued despite Trump’s threats and lawsuit.

THIS. We’ve come to learn that many of these powerful men are hypersensitive babies. Going after their egos likes this should become common.

WOW -- Danish reporter *goes there* with Rutte "You sit next to Trump when he talks about conquering Greenland, lashes out at allies like Spain -- things it doesn't seem like the old Mark Rutte would approve of. Does this have any affect on your self-respect when you sit there and say nothing?"

I assimilated all the way to Congress and this idiot still tells me to go back where I came from.

Tom Emmer: "Minnesotans are so afraid that you're gonna call us a racist, you're gonna call us an Islamophobe. You know what? I'm done being even the least bit careful. Somalis don't assimilate. And if they don't assimilate, then they should go the hell back to where they came from."

I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.

This is my rep, Chuy. I'm in his district. And in this clip, he absolutely represents me.

Rep. Jesús García comes out swinging: "You're one of the worst attorney generals in our history and an instrument of Donald Trump's lawless authoritarian agenda, and I'm glad the American people are seeing who you are."

this alone is worth an impeachment tbh

Senator Kelly is correct. Plus a Public Service Announcement: KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1. The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal: "orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Mark Kelly on the Trump/Hegseth boat strikes: "If orders are illegal, not only do they not have to follow them, they are legally required not to follow them."

Honestly at some point you have to start doing psyops with these people: Have Obama announce that he will seek a third term tomorrow. Then watch all the con law “scholars” and Fix News MELT DOWN trying to explain why he can’t but Trump can. (It’s like Newsom taking over his social media persona)

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: One theory on how you might try to serve a 3rd term is that you could run at the vice president TRUMP: Yeah, I'd be allowed to do that. But I would rule that out because it's too cute.

Trump to generals: "America is under invasion from within. We're under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in any ways because they don't wear uniforms. At least when they're wearing a uniform you can take them out."

Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.

Hey there's a thought for approximately nobody: If I was a publisher I'd print an edition "The Magic Mountain: Oops! All Settembrini" and it would just be dense philosophical tirades and sociological debate.

Trump calling for the impeachment of a judge who ruled against him. Calling him “crooked.” If this isn’t fascistic, what is? (Also, the media will sanewash this but anyone else who talks or writes like this would be sent to one of the mental asylums Trump thinks migrants are coming from!)

This does add texture to the situation. I'm trying to read with compassion. I don't know what it's like to receive death threats. However, the cynic in me wonders if this isn't just a story so Republicans can support Trump now, and later said they had been compelled by violence.

Politics is wrestling now. Can Elon be tricked into turning face? The ultimate "own" would be to "own" the ones purporting to do the "owning." He should suddenly implement the most sweeping green corporate policies ever seen. It'd be like Austin stunning McMahon or something. Let's tell him that.

You are up to date.
