uhhhhh

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

I did not see this unhinged statement previously. These people really do not understand this country

Turns out if you're 3 years late on your taxes it's fine, you will even get teased by the clerk for being anxious about it.

The myth underlying this is that trans people (trans women specifically) were ever "invisible." We were objects of fascination, scorn, mockery, and fetishizing long before 2014 (for about the entire history of mass media really). What really broke a lot of brains was the idea we deserved dignity

Was the LGBTQ+ movement’s pursuit of “visibility” a mistake? slate.trib.al/VSFkbOe

Pretty common sentiment on my end, turns out parents of dead trans kids often suck! These things are sometimes related!

Estradiol (estrogen) is so cheap to produce that in countries where pharmaceutical prices are negotiated, it is unprofitable to sell it as an injectable. Non-profit producers sell a vial (enough for a year HRT) for 25€. This is so stupid.

My issue with air conditioning is that it is a selfish solution to a collective problem. Every AC unit active is one pumping more hot air into the space around it, exacerbating the issue of heat islands in cities.

Courtney Milan@courtneymilan.com

Air conditioning is unapologetically a good thing because it helps people not die. And one good thing about air conditioning is that it largely needs to run during the day when solar power is at its maximum: it can and should align with clean energy goals.

And for the record I went the entire winter without heating in my apartment, and I live in northern France. This is something I could do because it has appropriate insulation and a southern face. It wasn't always the most comfortable experience, but it wasn't a health risk for me.

You know what helps people not die? Urban vegetation to provide shade, car-free roads and public transportation infrastructure.

I will probably be buying an AC unit soon to beat the heat. I resent that this will make the surrounding heat worse for my neighbours and for pedestrians in my area. I hate that beating the heat is something we as a society have delegated to individual households.

why am i just finding out about ICE terrorizing this city and people? why is no one in the media talking about this beyond independent outlets? this is horrifying

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

JUST NOW from @statuscoupnews.bsky.social livestream — ICE agents outside Delaney Hall in Newark, NJ pushed a protester into an 18-wheeler causing the truck to run over his leg. They then pinned him on the ground and carried him away.

The EHRC doing their ban 48 hours before I visit the UK feels a little targeted but I live in a country where paper changes can happen and my birth cert says F on it so terfs can stuck it (yes I will be carrying it around with me)

Repost this if you’ve gone to the doctor or you’ve seen a dog. I’m a teacher trying to show my students that it’s possible to repost stuff under certain circumstances like if a post asks you to and you’ve gone to something or seen something

There should be a follow-back-friday type thing for people who are bad at posting but want to feel included (me)

Palantir used to have affinity groups and DEI as late as 2022, and I had the logos saved on my phone because they pissed me off so much and of course they buried those pages. But I never forgot.

Listening to Blood Work and learning the reason that (US) Police look like that is because of Bill Clinton and Joe Biden. The groundwork for the occupation of american cities by fascists was laid out by democrats.

I see a lot of people in the comments talking about furry and kink posts that bother them, and here I thought this was about being inundated with american shitlibs who all caps yell about "tRump".

I don't know what Bluesky thinks "show less like this" means, but it doesn't show less like that.

BlueSky is depressing as a platform because you realize Americans know nothing about what's going on outside of their borders. Tbh the American "left" also seems to have complete amnesia over what their party was doing 6 months ago, so I can't be all that surprised.

TRANS GIRLS WHO AREN'T ON PROGESTERONE: progesterone is part of the hormone set of cis women and it probably should be part of yours, too. demand it from your provider. low P levels in cis women can lead to mood issues, anxiety, and depression! sound familiar? you're basically in menopause.

not having prog for a week has reconfirmed me in my belief that every trans woman should at least try it and the way it is withheld from standard care is genuinely malicious negligence on the behalf of healthcare providers
