Read this for clear explanations of specific “fraud” voting claims by Trump and how understanding the background and strategies can support confidence in our voting practices. Shows how laughably stupid they are (and want voters to be) to question only the votes the GOP doesn’t like.

@juliacurlee.bsky.social explores how the administration may leverage a true fact—Chinese parts in nearly every U.S. voting machine—into a license to contest any election it loses and what a defense of the midterms could look like.

The idea that making a sitting president answer for criminal charges would distract him from important official duties has never looked more ridiculous.

The arguments we’re having today aren’t new. In fact, we were having many of the same ones more than 150 years ago during Reconstruction. I recently sat down with Malcolm Gladwell to reflect on this pivotal time in our nation’s history, and the work that remains. Check out our conversation:

Marc Elias cites Rev. William Barber & SOS Hillary Rodham Clinton as two of his biggest inspirations to keep up the fight for voting rights. Such an intelligent discussion - covers so much ground and history. Reasons for hope included.

I always enjoy talking to my friend Marc Elias, and whew—there is a lot to talk about.

Massie: "I think it's ironic that we control the House, Senate, Supreme Court, and the White House, and we're yelling 'election fraud'? I mean, we won all the damn elections."

Remember what it was like when the news was not all scandals and revelations of new corruption? Still problems but the news included ideas for solving them and explanations from qualified people. It wasn’t like this a short, and yet very long-feeling, ten years ago.

NEWS: The Epstein files are now bound into 3,437 physical volumes in a new exhibition space in Tribeca. Millions of pages. Two stories tall. And yet only two people have ever faced accountability. Katie Phang discusses the rage she felt walking through the space.

Solnit’s article suggests to me that we need Re-Founding Fathers and Mothers to design & outline the reconstruction of our country and democracy in the upcoming elections and beyond to address the damage and opportunities that face us, including the electoral college, the USSC, gerrymandering, etc.

I have no words for this: “The goalkeeper told me I’m an illegal immigrant even though I was born in America, and he said Trump was gonna get me and send me back.” How is destroying the spirit of our children making this country great? Who will repair their trauma when this is over? Sickening.

“Minnesota is under siege. It might not yet be a civil war, but what the White House has dubbed ‘Operation Metro Surge’ is definitely not just — or even primarily — an immigration enforcement operation. It is an occupation designed to punish and terrorize anyone who dares defy this incursion”

Russia attacked Ukraine with 500 drones and around 40 missiles, including Kinzhal missiles. The main strike targeted #Kyiv, hitting energy facilities and civilian infrastructure. The Russian attack left nearly one third of Kyiv without heating. Russia is a terrorist state.

I’m sick that we’re not protesting the war in Ukraine more - pressuring Trump on h Putin/Russia. If nothing else he might blow his stack with all the “Russia Russia Russia” stuff he hates so much, and deserves. Maybe it would help - there is currently no good end in sight for the valiant Ukrainians.

Kyiv did not sleep once again last night. On the last weekend of the year, the capital should have smelled of mulled wine, cinnamon, chocolate and joy. Instead, our city was filled with smoke, gunpowder, explosions, screams, and curses. The Russian attack lasted twelve hours.
