Some people will probably never *get* YIIK, and that's okay. Opinions are subjective... that being said, it's really ironic how a lot of people who ranted about this game back then exhibited the same pretentiousness they claimed to be criticising.

Barely started working on my own mix of #YIIK 's "Hipsterbound" battle, and I'm starting to realize that I really like the original too much; this was supposed to be a remix of sorts but it's coming along as more of an uninspired cover lol. If I end up finishing it, I wonder how it'll turn out

I watched @planetclue.com's video on YIIK and my takeaway, given everything I know about the game and its development, is that trying to control for the audience's personal ludonarrative preferences is basically impossible, made even more difficult by going high-concept.
