this is purely my own gut feeling and i’d love actual devs input, but i get the sense that on top of everything else collapsing, one of the big struggles in games is that the Normal Iterative Sequel, reasonably scoped and made on a quick schedule, seems to sell like six copies now

i still am so glad that the sequel is even real at all. and it turned out as good as it did. the budget is clearly very limited but they 100% make the most of it and put out one of the best sequels ive seen in ages. and it came out 5 years after the first game, pretty reasonable!!

im getting obsessed with car-pet its hilarious that she was a throwaway character in kingdom grandprix and then someone at raizing said. Bring her back for Batrider. and then shes the most meta character in that game. and her unique ending has her going "this STG was easy tag me in for a RPG next"

when i travel to japan my number 1 goal will be buying a pc-98. it'll be unimaginably hard to bring it back and it will still be expensive as fuck but i am DETERMINED and i will FIGURE IT OUT. i might have to have a third suitcase dedicated solely to the pc-98 and padding so it doesnt explode

yesterday a dancecube cabinet just showed up at an arcade i frequent?????????? completely caught off guard by it appearing. game is surprisingly fun as hell even though its bootleg maimai with no touchscreen. the songlist is a fever dream the game just doesnt feel real. very happy its in my area now

took a long long time to get here but im finally starting to really enjoy my timeline on this site. it rlly takes so much more effort to build compared to ones w/ stronger algorithms (and i never really touch any tab here except Following) but its much more satisfying once its all together

i havent sung enough praises of cotton rockwithyou. a rare type of game where its a direct sequel that flat out improves on everything the first game had. im not exaggerating in saying that its one of my favorite shmups of all time. its a pretty easy clear but being a score gremlin is TOO fun

theres also just SO much packed into this game. at least 10 different characters that all play very different from one another, selectable B-sides for most of the stages with different music and bosses, 3 difficulty levels, theres just so much game here and i need more people to buy it PLEASE

its a game made with endless love and passion and its so polished and fun. so many small details too!!!! like when characters go underwater for a boss they put on a glass helmet to breathe underwater but the robot characters dont. details like that really add so much to the game!!!

cotton rocknroll was also great and had similar scoring dynamic but the level design had some REALLY bad levels here and there. the core gameplay made up for it there but in rockwithyou everything about the game is just on LOCK. its way too slept on do NOT let the cheap-looking 3d graphics deter you
