That was the single-most Atlanta-ass sporting event I have EVER been to in this city. The Dream are representing this city harder than any other team in the city. God bless.

Dream lead 60-46. Jordin Canada with a buzzer-beater. Dream outscored Valkyries 21-9 in the third. Angel Reese is a woman determined. 24 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. Allisha Gray has 14. Tiffany Hayes, 9 points, is the high scorer for Golden State.

Allisha Gray did not get any MVP votes and probably won’t make All W but strangely enough this was a better year for her offensively and defensively than last year. #wnba

Thread: Isobel Borlase finishing. No player has upped her eFG% from regular season to playoffs (just Finals shown) more than Borlase. It's not just 3P% (32.4% -> 42.9%); it's also finishing. Her points per shot within 8 feet is up from season 1.05 (n=85 FGA) to 1.71 (n=7, sample size alert).

The Atlanta Dream will play home games at State Farm Arena beginning with the 2027 season, the team announced. It’s a multiyear deal that’ll move the team’s home from Gateway Center Arena to the much larger and more central venue downtown.

I filed this last night at the airport. It’s a big matchup against the Mystics - a team that the Dream lost the season series against this year. I highlighted five keys for the Dream to avoid a first-round exit. #WNBA I @theixsports.bsky.social

In last year's WNBA playoffs, the Atlanta Dream were stunned in the first round. @michaelwaterloo.bsky.social breaks down fives keys for the Dream to avoid that fate this season.

Is anybody else just refreshing constantly to see when the WNBA Game 1 times are for each matchup? Wild that the first tipoff is a little over 48 hours away, we've known the four hosts teams for more than a day at this point, and they still have not announced the gametimes. Surely there was a plan?

With the Lynx’s win over the Fever tonight and the Mystics’ win over the Sky, Washington will be the No. 5 seed in the playoffs and face No. 4 Atlanta. Indiana will be the No. 6 seed and play either Golden State or Las Vegas

That’s back-to-back 30-win seasons for the Dream. They beat the Liberty 83-65, and lock up home court advantage + No. 4 seed. Atlanta also closes season on 5-game win streak.

"And a three-game series terrifies every coach". Yeah, and we shouldn't be playing them anymore. They keep adding games, but they keep adding the wrong games. Enough expanding the regular season. Get us to best-of-5 in the first round, and if it costs a couple of regular season games, great. #WNBA

Bringing this back up, as segment two has a fan opposition preview of the upcoming Atlanta Dream games with the New York Liberty that will significantly impact Atlanta's finish in the standings and potential home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Ooh. Anyone who watched Italy in the World Cup saw Villa's talent, albeit a point guard who only had 5 assists in the entire tournament. Only 21, and some genuine potential. Also a reminder that built relationships matter. Atlanta drafted her, but renounced their rights. Now sign her anyway. #WNBA

Every player from the Atlanta Dream who went to the FIBA World Cup came back with something. Sika Koné and Izzy Borlase each got a Player of the Game and Rhyne Howard and Angel Reese came back with gold medals. May it foreshadow great things for the post season. #wnba

It's wild. Maybe only the publications that made the effort to get to Berlin should be allowed credentials to cover the women's basketball at the Olympics in LA.

There is very little 'happy with silver, knew this was a longshot anyway' from France. They look disappointed, and a little pissed. Different from what we've often seen from teams losing to the US in past finals. #FIBAWWC

The problem with the 'good for business' part is it's hard to parse how much she generated and how much she was just there for. And she still sold 16% of the league for what is now about the value of 1/5th of one franchise. #WNBA

Summary of thoughts on Cathy Engelbert’s retirement. Good for business. Not great with people. Not well served by those who could’ve helped with that. I want to retire at 62 too. You get to a point where you’re just frigging tired of dealing. Players don’t need next commissioner to be their friend.

The Dream and DeWanna Bonner’s reps have had multiple conversations over the last few years about bringing her to the team, writes @michaelwaterloo.bsky.social. How did they make it happen? Inside the signing, the conversation she had with Karl Smesko and how she's already stepping up as a leader:
