Just reading about the Phoenix Symphony closing for remainder of the season. Hard to believe a city of this size can't support a Symphony. We were there several times last season and it seemed to be well attended when we were there. I feel badly for the musicians who are affected by the closure.

I'm old enough to remember when Phx PD, Mayor Gallego and the entire PHX city council argued vociferously that the police department could police itself and didn't need a DoJ consent order or monitoring.

Bummed to read about Dolly Parton's passing today. She used her celebrity for good; she preached acceptance, dignity and respect for everyone; and she used her wealth to offer a hand up to many people. Wasn't a huge fan of her music, but admired who she was & her willingness to speak up & speak out.

IMO, this is the weight that will ultimately crush college sports as we now know them. $40m rosters are going to be unsustainable and I think that both conferences & the NCAA are going to have difficulty implementing any sort of salary cap or parity measures that limit NIL budgets.

Totally agree with ⬇️. Many of us (me included) have lost the ability to just be in the moment and enjoy it.

I suspect that this is much more wide spread than is being reported and not a single one of them were self-caused. The lack of more intensive reporting on this, though, will cause it to remain under the radar for most people and not receive the attention it deserves.

Dems should worry about taking the house before they begin to worry about who becomes speaker - if Dems don't take the house all of the gnashing of the teeth and pearl clutching over who becomes speaker was entirely wasted.
