About four miles of the Marine Corps Marathon course (tens of thousands ran it yesterday) are along the perimeter of the course there…and are reportedly going to be lost if the admin gets its way.
VICTORY: A federal court just put the chainsaws down at East Potomac Park The plan was to turn a public park into a private tournament course for Trump & wealthy golfers. The trees stay while we fight it out in court @democracydefendersfund.org & partners are on the case 👇- TN

Totally. And it’s kind of crazy-making but also fun. Like, this weekend, I was at a playground with some parents concerned about screens in schools, we were eating donuts and exchanging leaflets and petitions to hand out. I was like—ah yes I’ve read this paragraph before ha.

As I've dug into this story, I've realized Alpha is just part of a larger terminally online ecosystem that has abandoned public schooling as something worth preserving. That in my view is the big story here, Alpha may live or die, but the Silicon Valley intellectual ecosystem will endure.
Shoutout to the Blues Brothers for the vocab lesson all those years ago
Among many oddities in this farkakte* lawsuit: it's signed only by DOJ #3 Stan Woodward and a long-serving Assistant U.S. Attorney in Alaska. The actual U.S. Attorney isn't on it. Maybe he ordered his subordinate to take one for the team. * -- Yiddish for "facially absurd on multiple fronts"
Good reminder for anyone who ever logs onto Bluesky to fight in the progressive messaging wars. These are the folks you're trying to reach with your "Everything Must Be Affordability" or "Be a Left Patriot" or etc rhetoric.
Main takeaway from the NYT Iowa focus group is that none of these voters really know what’s going on and they barely know anything about the candidates running in either statewide election lmao

I admit that asking Gemini "Does [movie] have a post-credits scene?" generates a simple yes or no answer whereas in the past googling that question would deliver links to articles that bury the answer after 8 paragraphs. So I'm pro-AI in the realm of whether or not I should sit through the credits.
Update on this: I had to build a sort of complicated survey today and really didn't want to deal with learning how to use a new system beyond Google Forms. Tried asking AI to solve for this and it generated an incredibly simple, quick solution.
Tried to get AI to help me with a research project the other day—searching out a bunch of schools of a particular type and subsequently filtering them in various ways. It was...discouraging. Lots of quick data, lots of confident answers, lots of errors.

It features a liar calling Acton a liar for telling the truth about the deprivations and sexual abuse she suffered as a child. Thats the sort of audacity a real human scorns as moral depravity, you pathetic excuse for a man.

I'm a big supporter of accountability & I really want Dems to pursue it, but I just want everyone -- pols & ordinary Dem voters -- to be prepared for the scale of the pushback against it. It's going to be immense. It will take intense focus & commitment to really follow through on it.
from your post to God's ears, but I fear they're still fundamentally bad.
Washington Wizards best player: Anthony Davis if he's healthy, which I feel like is just part of his name at this point. putting him and Trae Young together is a fascinating experiment. fun player: AJ Dybantsa, #1 pick in the draft and future 30 point scorer. butt: probably butt! weird, fun butt.
