The first time Charlie Chaplin used his voice in a film, he wielded it to forcefully condemn the rising forces of fascism around the globe. Will we listen to his words today?

The Department of Defense’s book banning policies aren’t about protecting kids — they’re about suppressing critical thinking and diverse ideas as part of President Trump’s “anti-wokeness” agenda. We’re suing the DoD to defend students’ First Amendment rights.

Undocumented immigrants can’t enroll in Medicaid. They can only ever access it temporarily, when they need lifesaving medical care. This only makes people afraid to access the medical care they’re legally allowed to receive. But Trump doesn’t care. His only goal is to sow fear.

They were supposed to be deporting “gang members” and “criminals.” So far, they have kidnapped people working their day jobs and folks lawfully showing up for their immigration court appearances… It was always a lie.

Immigration and the care economy are uniquely linked. As I told @emilypeck.bsky.social the relationship between a care worker and the disabled or aging person is the foundation of care. The actions of the administration stoking understandable fear in immigrant communities will impact care.

Just some creepy armed Mad Max guys trying to gain entry to Dodgers Stadium. ICE says it wasn’t them. DHS says they were Border Patrol. But honestly who the hell knows? They’ve given permission for any psycho to put on a ski mask, point a gun, grab people & throw them into an unmarked vehicle.

Senator Ted Cruz posted a dramatic video of LAPD cars on fire with the caption “this… is… not… peaceful.” What he didn’t mention? The footage was from 2020, not 2025. His post on X falsely implied it was current, part of a broader effort to spread lies and manufacture a crisis.

Most undocumented folks CAN’T get on Medicaid. There are some exceptions, such as for pregnant women, but otherwise, NO. And the folks who are about to lose Medicaid? Regular folks. Not undocumented immigrants.
