Replying to @mercury811.bsky.social

He didn’t post the video of American aliens illegally entering another country and murdering 165 children on his instructions though. That qualifies him as the worst president in history

How high can we go? Rough calcs suggest we've spent an extra $500m or so on petrol and diesel in the last month. That's about the same as the monthly salary for 80,000 full-time jobs. Real prices (image 2) now heading to the moon. Popular destination at the moment I hear.

Data centres are energy hungry but what if we could use their waste heat to heat our homes? That's exactly what happens in places like Finland: Cities are tapping the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres, and feeding it into district-heating networks.

Zohran Mamdani polled +40% on men under 30. So we wasted all that time on all those think pieces about how we need a Joe Rogan for the left, when what we actually needed were *policies* for the left.

Two thirds of young men backed Mandani. Which challenges the media narrative of the past year that you have to be a white supremacist asshole to get the young guy vote.

‼️ When bulldozers began to tear down the East Wing of the White House, historians raised alarms that important American history was being buried in the rubble, including chapters about previous first ladies and their roles uplifting women going back nearly a century.

That is right. In the 1950’s and early 1960’s the standard rate of income tax was 60%! High earners paid 90% on the top portion of their income. This funded education, research and development, infrastructure, healthcare. Today the richer you are the less tax you pay

UK, Canada, Australia & 26 other countries have signed a joint statement calling for unimpeded humanitarian aid access to #Gaza. NZ has not signed it. This is beyond embarrassing. It’s utterly disgraceful. People are starving. Where is our govt’s moral compass?

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.

Wild how the Fed chair saying that *entire regions of the United States* won’t be able to get a mortgage in the next decade barely registered as a news event

As someone who processes Medicaid, snap and ta claims, I can assure you we Sadly put applicants thru a thorough process of work reqs, verification of citizenship, ssn, id, resources and income. We even have to asking they have burial plans/plots. There's NO fraud.

VARNEY: So less money will flow to Medicaid. There will be a cut in the funding. That's accurate, right? REP. DAN MEUSER: Well, the plan is for some savings

#australiaelection #australia #fucktrump it's gets better not only did Dutton lose his seat to a progressive female candidate, she is also a former para-athlete and disability rights advocate

And most important US- voting is compulsory in Australia - this is actually a democracy, this result is a straight up numbers majority of every citizen over the age of 18

David Ho@davidho.bsky.social

No one else in the world wants what’s happening to the US. “Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia has won a second term, completing a stunning turnaround for his governing center-left Labor Party that trailed in the polls for months as a festering cost-of-living crisis weighed on voters.”

Raskin: You see that with Hegseth and a lot of other people who can actually be promoted to the highest levels of this government with the most irresponsible behavior, but they all happen to be white guys..

Imagine how cruel it is to someone who voted for the guy because eggs were expensive and trans athletes were running rampant and vulnerable white people were being forced to endure diversity. Now his pension and 401K is gone and he's going to be working at Burger King into his 80s. How fair is that?
