"There’s a difference between supporting the working creatures of Middle-earth and vesting them with power to change things and forge their own destiny. That’s not democracy! I don’t even know what that is, but it scares me, and it should scare you!" buff.ly/9WluK1y

This weekend I got to make sandwiches for 3 of the most important people in my life - Wife Bae, Special Big Bro, and Favorite Cousin. Each of them clearly expressed that the sandwiches I make are their absolute favorite. Such validation OMG

Favorite Cousin: “Remember the sandwich you made me yesterday? Could you please make that exact same thing again today?” Special Big Bro to FC, eating the half sandwich he requested: “I wish I asked for a bigger sandwich cause I want to keep eating this”

This Black MAGA creator says she “cannot believe the disrespect” after being removed from a San Antonio rally hosted by Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton!?!?! Why would they treat her this way???

But why even hire someone you have to fire 5 days later? Knowing they don’t like working on Columbus Day to boot?

Oh hi, folks in charge! you got a sip of water? A little sip? FROM THE FIREHOSE WE DRINK FROM ALL DAY? How’s that water taste, boss?

Got tickets for Dracula through a silent auction supporting Knox (they work to green Hartford) which in itself is fantastic. Called for the seats Wife Bae prefers.

Probably for the first time since we started dating she was visibly disappointed with my outfit (hadn’t changed much out of my usual preppy sailboat ready work outfit). But of course she wanted to fit the theme so we quickly changed to black on black.

For me this involves cuff links, a dark red pocket square, black Pride Converse, & a rose broach. We call this look the sexy vampire 🧛 and she’s a Halloween month staple in our house

Sounds like such a fake excuse to be late to something everyone knows you don’t want to do. But I stg the scooter was here 3 min before I planned to leave . For some reason Veo is still showing it on the map but, nope

Real #AndyHarris heads will remember that he got to Congress in 2010 on a platform to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Immediately upon getting to Congressional orientation, he asked how to access his sweet government healthcare that only 535 special Americans get

Republican Rep. Andy Harris incorrectly told a reporter they were breaking the law as the reporter and others recorded an exchange with him last night. Harris had just wrapped up a debate with Democratic challenger Dan Schwartz.

We lost Dolly… but we’ve got Joni now

Joni Mitchell, the Canadian folk singer known for defining the genre, took her oath at a U.S. citizenship ceremony on Tuesday. She captioned her social media post: “A journey that began 62 years ago.”

Trump has no issue dumping the women in his cabinet, publicly and loudly. but Lutnick Hegseth Kennedy Patel and Blanche are not going anywhere

No one should be platforming Thon Tillis. So many reasons. He makes you dumber the more he talks. Just say no

Well… yes, obviously, and it was obvious at the time. At least you kept your - wait what? Lost your senate seat anyway? Harsh

Republican Sen. Thom Tillis says in a new book that his deciding vote to confirm Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is the "biggest regret of my career" and that he also "should've stopped" RFK Jr. from becoming Health and Human Services secretary. https://to.pbs.org/4i4JblK

I told Republicans in DC this guy was bad news back in 2010 (I had a South Florida source) and people hated me for saying it then.

The # of institutions that merit total destruction is on full display this week. Please add Principal dental insurance to the list, they are greedy, petty monsters at that place

Bob Long used to say, there are none so ignorant as those who refuse to learn. Many days I am almost glad he's not here to see all these dummies in the world today

Never been to the opera before? Now’s your chance. We’re giving away 70,000 free tickets to the @metopera at the iconic Lincoln Center. Go to on.nyc.gov/opera to enter the lottery. There’s not a bad seat in the house.

Would love a commuter rail system where being 10 seconds late for the train doesn’t make you half hour + late to your destination! Tysm.

Update: the bus was a train. But then the train was a bus! Platform said train was coming as actual bus came and left. Ended up calling out the rest of the day and taking myself to lunch while waiting for a later for sure train, not bus

I called CT Transit who did help with information. Hopefully the call was as unexpected and annoying as my experience trying to catch trains was today

Hartford Line schedule says it’s a bus. But a train showed up. Schedule says departure at 12:10. Platform schedule says 12:14. TOO BAD IT’S IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO KNOW

Will I miss a bus waiting on a train platform? Who’s to say it’s unknowable and unshareable information in the year of our lord 2026

Did the Politico, MSNBC, and CNN reporters enjoy the correspondents’ dinner when they honored Trump? Hope they had fun the worst outcome would be losing friends

It’s a great escape from today’s news about bond market collapse and AI destroying humanity due to consequences of human error. Oh wait

Yes GOP presidents are 4/4 starting stupid destructive wars over the last 44 years. And Democrats are 3/4 supporting these terrible dumb wars. Congratulations to all involved we’ll never forgive you

It's neighborhood meeting time y'all! Let's goooo and shout out to everyone who lives in a neighborhood where the neighborhood board people join the 7 pm zoom call at 6:58 pm

Good news everyone. The mayor is rebranding every single department who presents to us! As if we can just take in new knowledge like this and still know what the different departments actually do. "Paths and Trails" "Community Empowerment" what are we saying

My 28-year-old advisor at work asked if he could have Tuesday afternoon (our staff meeting time) off. He explained he had friends, one of whom just got engaged, coming into town from all parts; and this was the one time they could all get together.

Mind you, I was on vacation last month on staff meeting day, so there's really no leg to stand on to deny this request. But also, a year from now, he won't remember what happened at the staff meeting. But he will remember gathering with his buddies and celebrating the engagement.

After lunch he reported that his friends called me "a real one" and "a legend." Super complimentary Gen. Z terms of endearment. Such an honor, truly, to be seen as these young men will now forever see me
