This is my account where I don’t worry about the outside world. I’ll still mostly be looking at science and nature and stuff like that. But kink and polyamory and queer issues are on the table too. That’s what being a human being is.

Let me write the opening script. “Because the government spending they’re illegally slashing is good for the country and good for the American people. “Cancer research. Disaster protection. National Parks. Disease prevention.”
Welker to Slotkin: "Democrats were in charge for four years. You were in Congress at the time. Why didn't Democrats do more to cut government spending when they were in charge?"
The entire premise of capitalism is that people who take risks deserve to be paid off when successful. But if you start out a multi-millionaire you have no accountability. The system is broken. And was broken deliberately.
The fact that Musk has lost $100B over the last month but is still the wealthiest person on Earth and financially unharmed in the slightest—all while wealth and income inequality is worse now than it was after the Great Depression—is Exhibit A on why we need to tax billionaires out of existence.

@garagehammer.bsky.social , Dave, What do you think about “Honest Wargamer’s theory that Chaos Dwarves are confirmed? 😁
Can you imagine being from Oklahoma and saying, “yes, that’s my senator, and he was elected in a landslide to represent us”?
Markwayne Mullin: "Senator Kaine, or I guess I better use the senator from Virginia, starts bringing up the fact that 'what if you showed up drunk to your job?' How many senators have shown up drunk to vote at night? ... how many senators have gotten a divorce for cheating?"

So just to be clear, in a functioning democray this would have been a 9-0 decision. I am glad Roberts and Coney Barrett decided to participate in our democracy this year, but Kavanaugh and Gorsuch are clearly lost in the permanent wilderness of moral rot that long ago swallowed up Thomas and Alito.

I will always say that his real weakness as president was that he believed the American people were inherently decent and moral.

“How about the House add campaign finance reform to the CR so Republicans and Democrats alike can stop being so scared about what a billionaire man-child thinks before they vote on anything around here?"

Just messaged my congressman telling him how disappointed I was. Guess hating trans kids is more important than the healthcare I’ve earned with 23 years of military service.
1. Today, 81 Democrats voted for the NDAA, which pulls care from the trans kids of military service members, in what is seen as a betrayal of trans people by the Democratic party. EITM has published a full, easy to read list of their names, and how to contact.
I don’t think most people understand how justifiably frightened trans people are right now, and those of us who love trans people. This is the reason I’m cutting anyone out of my life who voted for this.
i spent a month investigating how republicans could cut off access to trans healthcare for most americans, and how democrats can likely stop them — but it’s unclear if they will. tw: president of wpath warning of mass suicides www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...
Most people are roasting the “unnecessary care” statement and they’re right to do so. Quick thought: this is very close to the same people who think that people are undergoing sex reassignment surgery on a whim.
United CEO Andrew Witty gave an address to the company today (leaked to me), telling employees "we guard against...unnecessary care" and that "There are very few people in the history of the U. S. healthcare industry who had a bigger positive effect on American healthcare than Brian [Thompson]."
