Musician, playwright, filmmaker, game designer, sword-fighter... also has a job. I wrote a physically distant musical during the pandemic, so that's cool I guess? www.daystreamer.net to watch all the episodes.

A very funny thing about being a trivia host is how much of my Facebook advertising is geared towards random shit I googled for questions.

"I have nothing to hide." False. You have medical history You have financial behavior You have location patterns You have political views You have relationship data Privacy was never about hiding crimes. It was always about owning your life.

you can reverse the flow of immigration but its not going to satisfy them unless you can make them feel like they did when they were young again, or if you can’t do that, at least provide images of gratuitous violence against the people they associate with their inevitable marches towards death

Not going to lie, I'm utterly furious about the threat "sovereignty requires responsibility", in that formal letter sent to Canada from the US. True, Canada is doing fuck all about climate change, but this coming from the country that is eagerly fighting FOR climate change?? Fuck off into the sun.

Every time I see any discussion online about the CBC, there are always a zillion comments (maybe bots, maybe people, who knows) saying we need to get rid of the whole thing. And I 100% do not understand anyone who thinks replacing the only source of Canadian TV and news is a good idea... #cbc

I frequently miss the Gamecube controller, and what it did for the game's design. An obvious hierarchy of buttons that you could feel with your fingers was fantastic. "THIS button, you're gonna press all the time. THOSE buttons have their various support roles"

Life hack: anytime a dude brags about being an alpha, you should assume he's saying he's part of Gen alpha, and immediately and obviously start talking to him as if he's a pre-teen.

And then I wrote the second half! Don't know yet if I'll actually shoot this one. Definitely has some important stuff to consider first...

Two weeks ago, I was on stage in a musical for the first time in 18 years. Last week, I was on stage in a play. So this weekend, I really feel like I need to find something to do... Need to organize filming some of these scripts I've got piled up.

LLMs are like dudes trying to talk someone into bed. They just say whatever might sound like the thing you want to hear, to try and get the result they're looking for. Truth is irrelevant to anything they say; it's just whatever seems to work towards their reward function.

Had a great time this weekend filming our entry into the Nickel Independent Film Festival 48 hour horror challenge. We managed to get it done, despite most of our company being in rehearsals for a musical much of the weekend. We're getting more efficient at this! (and our films are looking better!)

In case you can't tell what just happened, JK Rowling instructed her followers to take photos of anyone in a women's restroom who doesn't match their idea of Western feminine beauty standards. Short hair? Thick cheekbones/jaw? Too tall or broad-shouldered? You're now "a man" and will be harassed.

If you're still buying wizard book shit, you are no friend to the trans community. Here's the wizard book bigot inciting harassment against innocent people to her 14 million followers on the nazi app. And no, they can't Always Tell.

Nickel independent film festival sci fi challenge starts tonight! Going to be a fun week, starting with the writing marathon once we get our prompt.

Jesus fucking Christ the ending of Half-Life: Alyx is so god damned good! I'd played it when it came out, so I knew how it went, but still, replaying it 5 years later, it's still the most insane VR game out there.

Pretty amazing that Valve still knocked it out of the park after starting and cancelling Half-Life games on and off for over a decade. The fact that HL3 is sounding like an actually realistic possibility now is definitely exciting!

I really wish we could reassign the term "working class" to mean anyone who gets paid for their work for their living. As distinct from the ownership class. A brain surgeon getting paid a half million dollar salary, and paying income taxes, isn't dicking everyone else over.

America (the richest country) sees it as the role of every other country on earth to find some way to serve them. Just like how the richest people see all the rest of us...

I'm thinking of creating a DnD character who either insists their sock puppet is some kind of familiar, or better yet, the sock puppet is the player character, and insists the person who's hand they're on is some sort of familiar, or mount.

That's right, the USA is fucking insisting that other countries need to work on expanding their own racism, sexism, and discrimination...

"Hey, Iceland, I know that you're the most gender equal country in the world, but you're gonna need to stop...." - America, probably. grapevine.is/news/2025/04...

Wow, magic cards are up to $10 a pack? Definitely time to build some cube shenanigans from these many thousands of cool cards that I already own.

A few months ago, I rewatched Tombstone. And I honestly can't tell if I actually love the movie, or if Val Kilmer's performance as Doc Holiday was just so god damned good that it takes the rest of the movie along for the ride. RIP

Today, we honour the sacred rite of April Fools. On this day, we carefully think about that which we read online. We make this sacrifice, that we may believe obliviously, the rest of the year.
