Israel's behavior demonstrably does not get better when people are solicitous of its security concerns. Years of quiet in the West Bank and on the Gaza front were rewarded with more land grabs. And when people aren't, they lash out with genocidal violence.

Mikhail Gorbaechev@mikhailgorbaechev.bsky.social

"Israel is operating under a paranoid psychosis that makes them wage endless war on their neighbors and brutally oppress half the population they rule over" is an explanation for their behavior but it doesn't really change the calculus of what we need to do to knock some sense into them.

"Accountability" is a nice sentiment but it's become a popular talking point word to use because it sounds strong while being totally non-specific. Embarrassing somebody at a congressional hearing (which Dems already do plenty in the minority anyway) is not accountability. It's impunity on display.

Some Lula supporters apparently shouted his name out their window when it was announced he won and a cop pointed his gun at him and they took what is possibly the greatest image of a cop ever taken, like genuinely this would go hard as a cover for a Rage album its so poetic.

Fleetwood Town, a club of which I, a rabid football fan, had never before heard, today proved, beyond doubt, the existence of a benevolent god. And he fucking hates the Gunners.

Not only is this suit empty but it's mostly lint holding hands.

Q: Why shouldn't Alaskans find it insulting that the administration is suggesting they can't read the word 'incumbent' on their ballot and know to vote for Sen. Sullivan? JD VANCE: People are busy. People have lives. People have jobs.

Corralling the wealthy back into the tax system is vital not just for the $, but because the ability to dodge taxes severs their connection to the rest of us. It validates isolated-hero myth making while creating a clear goal for the hyper-rich: keep evading any ties that bind to state & society. 1/

Capital gains should be taxed when the assets are monetize, whether that's via sale or via loan

This whole story should be a MUCH BIGGER DEAL in the press now that Vivek has exposed coddling (pedophile) rapists as a core GOP value.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

Ramaswamy has policies? The Journal should let us here in Ohio know. Because he's refused to tell us, even though the Cleveland Plain Dealer asked the gubernatorial candidates the 15 most pressing questions submitted by its readers. Vivek ghosted out. Par for the Journal's course.

1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

CBS deleted this post and reposted it admitting that their original one was misleading. And the misleading post from CBS was intentionally misleading, not an innocent mistake. CBS continues to lose credibility.

You can literally feel the intelligence, decency, morality, compassion, class, decorum stripped away when you hear the orange felon speak his hateful stupid compared to the masterclass of President Obama’s speeches. The racist will always live in the shadow of a beloved successful black man.

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump have lost surprise elections thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.
