"Housing has become so unaffordable for people to be able to live in downtown Carmel, near all of that walkable vibrancy." - @simpixelated.bsky.social The work continues for @strongtowns-carmel.bsky.social 👏 bit.ly/46CAEzH

Every one of Indiana's 10 biggest cities has had a municipal bus service for decades. Except for Carmel, Fishers and Noblesville. 🤔 This IndyStar story breaks down why 🧵 www.indystar.com/story/news/l...

The number of children injured or killed by cars while walking or riding a bike has fallen steadily since the 1970s, but CDC researcher note that this decline is not because streets are safer, but because fewer kids are out and about in the first place.
We gotta get past the culture wars. More of this: "When the ideas were anonymous and stripped of political identity, the constituents found that they agreed on a lot." gizmodo.com/a-kentucky-t...
A nice takeaway for @strongtowns-carmel.bsky.social: Folks seem to agree on safe streets and affordable housing. polygraph-cool.github.io/m2-report/

Soon you’ll be able to rent, buy, or get service for a @bunchbike.com e-cargo bike at the Pedego Bike Shop in downtown Carmel, Indiana. Nothing gets people thinking about family biking like seeing one roll by in real life and I expect a quiet boom once these start showing up on the streets.

I love this post from @americanfietser.bsky.social on using guidance from @dutchcycling.nl to make Carmel an even better place to walk, bike, and roll: strongtownscarmel.org/blog/designi...
I'm excited to help grow the @strongtowns.org conversation in Carmel. Maybe you'll join us in advocating for everything from safe streets to bottom-up development? An open invitation: bit.ly/3YB0n8v
It's cool to live in a community where leaders like @rileychoe.bsky.social and @simpixelated.bsky.social are paving the way for people to safely get around without a car simpixelated.com/the-autumn-g...
At a book club discussing @strongtowns.org, I met someone who moved to Carmel, Indiana because of the content @americanfietser.com creates and I think that's really cool. The power of building safe, well-maintained infrastructure for people! And having creators who highlight it!
You are up to date.
