I have some amazingly strong childhood memories of Dulles. This is hilarious. I don’t want it trashed, but man, the way the politicians will be pissed if this happens.
FFS now they're going to demolish the airport that all the international flights use - the entire metro dc area getting trashed www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

RPPR has all of my favorite actual plays: Bryson Springs, the Borellus Connection, Fallen Flag, The Wives of March (shudder) and so many more.
just saw this review of RPPR's actual plays of @deltagreen.bsky.social and it made my day! From throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2023/08/four... and throneofsalt.blogspot.com/2026/07/even... - thanks again @valtarra.bsky.social and @hebanongames.bsky.social for running DG on RPPR!
Paris Chicago Copenhagen Man, I’ve lived a lot of places, but I can’t think of any more favorites. All the places I like in California are too damn expensive and exclusive for me to favorite them.
QUESTION: What are your FIVE favourite cities anywhere in the world? Bonus points for persuasive explanations why your choices are “right.” Mine (in no order) are: Paris Barcelona New York Montreal Vancouver

If you haven’t given God’s Teeth a read yet (or have and are just really cool), consider supporting the Gayming with Pride charity bundle: www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5... It’s a great deal on some fantastic books that are way less depressing than my bullshit :-)
@somethingsamiss.bsky.social is an absolutely fabulous podcast. Ok, I’m only 2 1/2 episodes in, but it’s great. Finley is a joy to listen to. It’s going to go so bad….

I have some advice for my fellow middle aged men who fear they are no longer down with the yoof. 1) Actually get to know some young people you aren't in a position of authority over. It'll do you a world of good. Doesn't have to be dramatic. Join a book club or a RPG club.

You are a wanderer. You awaken from a statue with no memories, free to explore this endless labyrinth of ancient mysteries with friendly spirits to give you aide and dark forces that mean to do you harm. Listen to Ruins, a 3-episode Eternal Ruins #ttrpg #ActualPlay. happyjacks.org/categ...
This and the responses are parenting comedy gold!
Does anybody else have a 13yo who uses the phrase "I love you" as code for "Go fuck yourself, I will eat jelly beans for breakfast while I'm sick and you're not gonna do shit about it because I've realized you are a paper tiger with no real authority over me." Or, is it just mine?

I made a little Instagram reel about this image because it’s just so frickin’ cool
More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕
I just finished listening to this. It’s all fantastic: narration, story, end commentary. Great story. pseudopod.org/2026/03/06/p...
Masters degree $25 an hour, 32 hours a week, living wage is $50 an hour and 40 hours a week. No benefits. Thank god for ACA.
I'm gonna rant a little bit. Yesterday, I was in a conversation on here. The gist was, someone was saying Democrats are told to speak more on costs and wages. And her argument was they do it maybe even too much but get no credit for it. To me? Action matters. Talk doesn't.
Two things: reading the Silmarillion and loving the language stuff and taking a History of the German Language course in college. “Wait. There are multiple Germanic languages spoken in Germany today?!”
Do you remember how you found out that linguistics existed and was a thing you could get enthusiastic about?
It’s really great!
