Thinking about this as an old game that used to run fine is now consistently crashing, presumably because every other llm-bloated program or service is strangling it to death by taking twice as much RAM as necessary

I always find it funny the Goku still needs to breathe. Nobody who operates on that scale still breathes. No way the god that still needs oxygen is beating the patron saint of magical girls.

This is why I'm not actually on board with the whole Save Mass Effect thing. I deeply love ME but saying "please Saudi backed EA, now that you've destroyed the studio that made these games, farm out the IP to some one else to limp on in some barely recognizable zombie version" ain't it. Let it die

Hayes Madsen@solfleet.bsky.social

Does it need to be said that Mass Effect shouldn’t exist without the developers and team that was working on this game? Either they come back and make the game they were, or Mass Effect dies. kotaku.com/mass-effect-...

The whole supervised mall trick or treating thing is legitimately one of the saddest, most fucked up generational changes I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. When I was a kid, we had the horrible β€œcheck the candy for drugs! don’t accept anything homemade!” bullshit, but at least we still WENT. We still..

My son was suspended from school for giving another student a "pigjob" and now we're all sitting around the empty dinner table as a family with our palms flat on the surface staring at nothing in particular in silence. It is understood none of us will ever ask what the word means.

That's the bit everyone gets wrong. They try to look like the 80s/90s and they pick whatever was in fashion or what was on TV show sets at that time. Most people lag about a decade behind whatever the furniture and decor trends are because they only buy stuff when they need to replace them.

remember when Elon took over Twitter and was having the engineers document how many lines of code they were writing as if more was better and not a sign they were not very good at coding

Also: this behavior should be seen as political weakness. Democrats constantly allow the GOP to set the tone on issues, and it just makes them look fucking pathetic. This isn't a movement voters are demanding, it's one the GOP have been attempting to manufacture.

the handful of die-hard anti-trans voters that exist are going to vote GOP no matter what. so this ad will not pick up a single new voter. all it does is further disenfranchise trans ppl – a marginalized group MAGA hates. this is a pro-MAGA ad & Turek is furthering MAGA's cause by airing it
