“We wanted to kiss Trump’s ring without anyone seeing.”

Remember the Catholic archbishops praying over Trump? The White House duped them into posing then sent out the video they didn’t know was being recorded without their knowledge. apnews.com/article/dona...

We are in the middle of the constitutional crisis, of which wild unaffordablilty is the result. The President is making very random decisions—tariffs, budget, war—without any democratic accountability and it is tanking the economy.

For God’s sake, when can we be rid of this cruel, arrogant idiot!

Trump: "Canada is working very hard to make a deal with us, and I hate to say this, but we have all the cards. We have all the cards, just like I told Zelenskyy, we have all the cards."

The problem is not just the current state of the economy. The problem is that our economy and national policy are structured to benefit the people with the most wealth.

Major media aren’t warning the public that Republicans are in the process of establishing a dictatorship. Is it because the media don't think it’s really happening? No. It’s because they *do* think it’s happening and fear being in the crosshairs of the dictator.

I keep thinking of how morally bankrupt it was for Republican lawmakers to wear AR-15 lapel pins.

Republicans view dead school kids as a small price to pay for the right to have unlimited access to guns. The US is the only country where mass shootings are an everyday event.

Trump aids a war criminal dictator against our democratic ally.

The Big Ugly Bill adds $3.4 TRILLION to the national debt. Not to fund schools. Not to fix roads. Not to lower your grocery bill. To pad the wallets of people who already own most of the country. Your grandkids get the bill. The donor class gets the breaks.

Which should surprise nobody. We did great things after WWII and up through Kennedy putting a man on the moon. Then we gave up. Exchanged creating ways to lift-up all Americans for personal greed, materialism. We opened the door to oligarchs, closed entrances at gated developments. Stopped caring

Eight years ago today, the Saudi government directed the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Virginia resident and journalist dedicated to shining a light on the truth. As we honor his memory and courage, we must fight for accountability and defend press freedom worldwide.

The cruelty and callousness of these guys. Apparently what MAGA people want.

Honestly, the scariest thing about the last ten years has been realizing that over a third of the country just watches democracy get dismantled and acts like it's totally normal.

30% of voters would love it. Fox News would cheer him on. SCOTUS would back him up. Congress would do nothing, except-- Schumer & Jeffries might put out strongly worded statements. It would be 1933-34 in Germany all over again. The end.

How do you think Americans would react if Trump declared Martial Law during the midterms, as some of his advisors are urging him to do, as reported by The Atlantic?

On this day in 1994, the Clinton administration's heathcare reform plan was declared "dead" by Congress. Over 30 years later, the US is still the only industrialized country without universal healthcare. This should be a national outrage.

Five corporations control 90% of the US media. Airlines have merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today. A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry. Four giants control 80% of meat processing. The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

The amount of Amazon workers relying on SNAP and Medicaid has nearly tripled since 2020. — while Amazon’s annual profits soared by over 550%. It’s the same story everywhere: corporate profits are at record highs, while workers’ share of the economy is at a record low. We must unrig the system.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate. The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns. Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care. Big Tech buys off Congress. No action on AI safety. The list goes on and on. Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 93% Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 34% Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%. As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.
