Darren Shan

It's another TATTOO TUESDAY!! This week's comes from KLAUS, who loved my DEMONATA books so much, he had the word tattooed across his fingers, one per digit! Incredible work!! 👻👻

Books On My October TBR (THAT NO ONE’S TALKING ABOUT?!)

Darren Shan - “The world won't end with a bang or a whimper. It'll end with the death screams of a thousand demons and a defiant, carefree, savage, wolfen howl. #QuoteBot

Just got back from watching WILDWOOD with the family. An absolute treat! Dark, epic in scale, and beautifully filmed, it has strong Lord Of the Rings vibes running through it, and fans of my books will find plenty in here to connect with too. HIGHLY recommended!

Just ONE WEEK until my HALLOWEEN event in CHAPTERS BOOKSTORE DUBLIN! Tickets cost €10 but include your choice of a new edition of Cirque Du Freak or Vampire's Assistant or Tunnels of Blood. Click here to book: www.eventbrite.ie/e/darren-sha...

It's another FAN ART FRIDAY! This week we have four fine (confirmed and almost) Vampire Princes! ARROW (kids muscling in) by ILLYA. DARREN by NOEL. KURDA by LIV. MIKA by DANI. I hope you have a great weekend, everybody! #cirquedufreak #fanart #books #FanArtFriday

Virányos school in Hungary recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. My books are popular there, so I was asked if I would write a letter, which the staff then turned into a game - the students had to guess who wrote it! The winner won the letter and a copy of Cirque Du Freak. 🥰

LORELLA posted this, saying she could never work out what the middle bit was! I often tell people I have terrible handwriting and that my teachers always gave out to me about it. Here’s the proof! 😂 FYI it says “it’s always nice to eat… er, I mean MEET a pen pal!!” 😂

The first Archibald Lox eBook hit the #1 spot in a number of categories on Amazon stores all around the world at the weekend. Archibald Lox And The Bridge Between Worlds is FREE, through Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, Kobo, Smashwords and lots of other eBook shops.

Just TWO WEEKS until my event in CHAPTERS BOOKSTORE DUBLIN on HALLOWEEN! This will probably be my only Irish event this year. Tickets are €10, but include a book - either Cirque Du Freak, Vampire’s Assistant or Tunnels of Blood. Book tickets here: www.eventbrite.ie/e/darren-sha...

How many of you knew there was an online Darren Shan "album"?!? 10 tracks, by different artists who were inspired by my books. Curated by me. You can listen to Cirque Du Loss here: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis... Make sure you leave the artists some LIKES if you enjoy the songs! 😀

Two new songs, by SKORM, from their album TALES OF WONDER & TERROR. Both tunes were inspired by my book LAKE OF SOULS. Heavy metal, so set that volume HIGH! 🤣 1 - Lake of Souls: chapelofskorm.bandcamp.com/track/lake-o... 2 - Temple of the Grotesque: chapelofskorm.bandcamp.com/track/temple...

If you want to read a cool review of Now You Don't!, my upcoming Darren Dash novel for adults with open minds, by WILL on GOODREADS, click here: www.goodreads.com/review/show/... EBOOK available to pre-order through Amazon, Apple, B&N, Google, Kobo, etc. Hardback and paperback editions to follow.

TATTOO TUESDAY rides again! This week it's DAVE, who went for the heart-shaped watch favoured by Mr Tiny! It's an amazing tattoo, Dave, but don't come crying to ME when Mr Tiny turns up on your doorstep one day and whispers, "I've come to take my heart back..." 😱 #tattoo

I've donated a copy of the 25th anniversary edition of Cirque Du Freak to this year's Children In Read, which is raising funds for the BBC Children In Need Appeal. I will sign, date and dedicate, and cover shipping to anywhere in the world. www.jumblebee.co.uk/childreninre...

My turn, my turn! Hmm.... tried to choose and rank these books in terms of ones I'll "never forget", for various reasons.

Three weeks from today, on HALLOWEEN, Saturday 31st October, I’m doing an event in CHAPTERS BOOKSTORE in DUBLIN, at midday! Tickets are €10, but that includes a book - Cirque Du Freak, The Vampire’s Assistant or Tunnels of Blood. Book tickets here: www.eventbrite.ie/e/darren-sha...

Reading this for the first time in 14 years is like slipping on the suit I was buried in. I remember the plot beat for beat yet there are details I'd forgotten or not appreciated. I also read Mr Crepsley as having a sort of Dutch accent for some reason #reading #amreading 💙📚 #booksky

I've added new covers to my website, for Iran, Hungary, UK. Plus I found an oldie I'd forgotten about! If you put the 12 UK Zom-B paperback back covers together you got a haunting picture of B Smith. Go to WWW dot DARRENSHAN dot COM and click on the COVERS link near the bottom.

A fan called HANNAH was playing a 2000s edition of Trivial Pursuit with her family at the weekend and got asked THIS question. She says she squealed with delight! ❤️ I like to think that all of you lot would have got this right too! But I have my doubts about a few of you… 😜😂

MOOTSER MASH 𝓓𝓪𝔂 𝓕𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓙𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓻 ⋆.˚🃏⋆✮⋆˙ 'A jester's job is to make people laugh, but the line between a laugh and a scream is paper thin' — Darren Shan, Cirque Du Freak: Tunnels of Blood (Vtuber: AutieVT) #MoosterMash #vtuberart

After an enjoyable school event in Cleethorpes this morning, I’m heading on to my final signing of the tour, in WATERSTONES SHEFFIELD MEADOWHALL at 4pm this afternoon. So, who’s coming to see me for the last hurrah?!! 😂👻 #cirquedufreak

I’m in MANCHESTER ahead of the first signing of my October tour at 1pm in WATERSTONES ARNDALE. The appropriately styled t-shirt that you can see me wearing was made by the Waterstones staff in Manchester for my events here last year. It survived to be worn again! 😂

Another review for Now You Don’t! By CARRIE. She liked the book’s darkness but found the sex scenes uncomfortable. I suspect she won’t be alone in this. This book is about magic and sex, and both are in plentiful supply! 😳 Read the full review here: www.goodreads.com/book/show/25...

The second review for Now You Don't! is in, by PETER DURN, one of the mods of the Darren SFhan Discussions Facebook group. To find out what Peter made of the new book, click here: darrenshan.com/news/second-...

In London for a couple of days with my son. Kicked things off with a visit to the Shard. Was enjoying the lovely views (and cocktails) until I glanced down and saw the HMS Belfast in all its glory… which was when my knees started to knock together!!! 😈 If you know, you know!!! 😜

The first review for Now You Don't! is in -- and it's a good one!! From fellow author, Ruth Osgood. www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I'm on tour in October, in Manchester, Preston, Hanley Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, York, Hull and Sheffield Meadowhall in the UK, finishing up in Dublin Ireland. Hoping to see YOU at one of my stops! :-)

Fan Art Friday! Drawings of Darren Shan by: NOEL, who chose a scene from Lake Of Souls. VINCENT, who drew Darren after his Trials Of Death. LIV, who captures a troubled Darren beholding his reflection in a mirror in Cirque Du Freak. Fab! #cirquedufreak #fanart #FanArtFriday

Two more cover teasers for my upcoming Darren Dash book. I'm planning to reveal the full cover tomorrow, but if you would like to guess at the title before then... *there are 3 words *there's an O in each word *it's a familiar magician's phrase Let the guessing commence!!!

The fabulous Cirque Du Freak Fanzine is back and submissions are open!! If you’d like to find out more about how YOU can submit a piece (fan art, cosplay photos, fan fiction or poetry), click here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... #cirquedufreak #fanzine

I have a new Darren Dash book for adults coming out in the near future. For an update on its progress, and a bit more info about this cryptic image from the front cover, click here: darrenshan.com/news/first-c...

This is the proof edition of Cirque Du Freak, made back in 1999, before the book was released in January 2000. For some recollections from me, including why it ended up being such a cool-looking proof, click here: darrenshan.com/news #cirquedufreak

BOOKSHELFIES! OLIVER, with an impressive collection of the British editions. AARON, with older, darker British editions. I like how you can clearly see how much darker the covers originally were. BRENDA, with American trade paperback editions. #Bookshelfie #cirquedufreak
