I hate this trend of pseudo-informational political posts where people ask a gen-ai for a picture of some politicians, instead of just googling real pictures, and so now we get all this bullshit, probably inaccurate posts over top of temu versions of whoever they're talking about. Y'all need to stop

To hammer home how dumb this is. The cons will cut $2B from the wildfire contingency to pay for their meager $1000 tax cut. When everyone knows that wildfires will keep getting worse. And the entire interior of BC (where the fires happen) voted for the con artists anyway. Hoooolllllyyyyy fuck.

Perhaps, campaigning entirely for property owners, when a lot of those property owners own multiple properties, may not even live in Vancouver, and can only vote once, while telling renters to kick rocks, wasnt exactly the best strategy. How's my analysis @jmcelroy.bsky.social ?

To be clear, this is about the BC Conservatives’ campaign manager!! Who still holds that job!!!!!

I actually think it's really egregious to suggest that experiencing sexual violence can excuse racism in any capacity. Almost every woman I know has experienced some form of sexual violence. They manage not to be racist. How is everyone just accepting this offensive framing?

They shouldve let Seth MacFarlane make his version of Star Trek years ago. The Orville is exactly the kind of Trek people wanted back on TV

John Orquiola@backofthehead.bsky.social

@terrymatalas.bsky.social is a wise man, and I agree with what he says about Star Trek: The Next Generation as a template for #StarTtek's future. 🖖 Thank you to @trekmovie.bsky.social

So as unpopular as the decision was, BC Premier David Eby called an election earlier this week. Making the actual election day October 24. So question for Jon, how does it feel knowing that just next door we can call, and finish an election prior to the midterms? @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social

NDP Leader Avi Lewis says Carney’s government is “flooding the zone.” “We are in a crisis moment. We’re under economic attack from the United States and we need a crisis response,” Lewis said. 1/2

“So the bottom line is Trump doesn’t do the show anymore.” “Yeah.” That time Dave Letterman said Trump stopped doing the show unless he apologized for calling Trump “racist” — and Dave wouldn’t do it.

If any of these AI companies put any Isaac Asimov books, or Terminator movies in their training data, I'm pretty sure we're fucked. And if your name is John Conner, I hope you're already off the grid and not able to see this.

Absolutely pathetic that the weekend fox news host americans call their secretary of defense, thinks its within the scope of his duties to cyber bully canadian teenagers, while he's actively losing a war he and his boss started, by blowing his load too quickly. What sad, strange little men.

Charlie Angus@charlieangus104.bsky.social

I am not surprised that the Pentagon supports trolling Canadian teenagers who volunteer to serve our nation. We are proud of our cadets. As for the Pentagon, they abandoned sailors without provisions, committed war crimes at sea and murdered 168 school girls. What a fucking disgusting institution.

I'm sorry, but hes so right.

Abdul El-Sayed: “Canadians are like the only people in the world who are going to preemptively apologize for something they didn't even do. So if you're starting a trade war with Canada, it's because you're the asshole.”

A major issue the U.S. refuses to address is widespread media and functional illiteracy, making propaganda and disinformation easy to spread and manipulate public opinion. Corporations and politicians can even manufacture “grassroots” movements to undermine their competition.

Correct. Also claiming he's an aberration would work better if this weren't the second fucking time.

Dr. Dave@drdave1999.bsky.social

Please remember that much of the world is smarter than average Americans, and infinitely more politically aware. They know that Trump isn’t an aberration. He’ll be gone soon, but our knuckle-dragging, moronic electorate will elect another monster instead. We can’t be trusted.

I feel its very disingenuous when the first I'm hearing about a thing "going viral" is when some article is telling me that its viral. Feels real manufactured. I want grass fed, free range viral only, please.

So apparently American fascists are so dumb, they think their coup will work, even though his own military probably hates him. Bold strategy, Cotton.

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: The crisis inside Trump’s military appears to be spreading. MeidasTouch obtained text messages from a USS Carl Vinson sailor’s wife saying sailors are being forced to shower in cold water and the ship’s water fountain's have been shut off as they prepare for another deployment.

TIL in Canada, companies don't get to use POS donations for tax write-offs as I assumed. Basically no one does. So I had an idea, that likely would require some legislation, because no company would just do this out of the kindness of their own hearts.

This would both, save Canadians money come tax time, and encourage people to donate, where many may avoid it due to misconceptions about who gets benefits from POS donations. Would also be a PR win for any company that willingly does this without legislation.

I’ve heard a lot about airlines colluding with ICE and TSA to inform on migrants. Sickening betrayal. If anyone wonders how Germany got to where it did, it’s because of these kinds of collaborators.

Saw Spider-man: Brand New Day today. Loved it, fantastic movie. But a thought I had, between BND and Dune 3, its a big year for Zendaya and giant worms. Iykyk
