Let's see what has happened in the last few days. Trump has threatened to bomb an ally (Oman), betrayed another ally and critical trading partner (South Korea), and embraced the world's worst dictatorship (North Korea).

Meanwhile, Vance is out there promoting the idea that the US dollar shouldn't be the world's reserve currency, an idea so braindead and damaging that even Trump has said in the past that it if that happened it would make the US a third-world country and would be worse than losing a war.

The president's threat to impose tariffs on countries that oppose his desire to acquire Greenland shows that he does not see tariffs as an economic tool to help America, but as a weapon to hurt his enemies. That's the fundamental nature of his entire presidency.

Trump says he'll impose a 10% tariff (rising to 25% in June) on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland, because they've sent people to Greenland, until the US can buy Greenland.

Trump is running a world-wide extortion racket. Tariffs, domestic extortion, and now with the military in Venezuela. He doesn't care what type of regime ends up in Venezuela; all he cares about is extorting some oil from them. He'll keep threatening military operations until he gets his cut.
