AOC: Some of the Republicans whose districts we visited just warned their leadership that they’re not sure they can vote for Medicaid cuts now. We’ve got them on their back foot. But our job is not done. We will rally every corner of the U.S. We will not stop until they actually vote no.

AOC: We must acknowledge the terrifying moment we are in right now. What we are hearing and seeing with our own eyes is, in fact, happening. We are watching our neighbors, students, and friends being fired, targeted, and disappeared. It is real.

The U.S. is the only major country on Earth that does not guarantee workers a paid vacation. When a husband, wife & kids are unable to spend any time together on vacation, that is not a family value. It's an attack on everything a family is supposed to stand for. Unacceptable.

Every American has the right to health care, period. If you’re sick, you should be able to go to the doctor without being worried about the cost.    Medicare for All is a solution for real change in our health care system. Thank you to everyone who is joining this fight.

It’s clear: Trump and Musk want to make it harder and harder for the elderly and disabled to utilize Social Security. They don’t care how much pain they cause. Their ultimate goal is to make Social Security dysfunctional, to privatize it and to let Wall Street take it over.

More than 50,000 people in Gaza are dead. 114,000 have been wounded — two-thirds of whom are women & children. The entire infrastructure has been destroyed. Much of that devastation has been done with bombs that the U.S. supplied to the Netanyahu war machine. We are complicit.

Very important reporting here. Tom Homan is having his neighbors’ kids disappeared. But their school and their principal are fighting back.

New — I spoke to the school principal of Sackets Harbor, NY, where ICE handcuffed and disappeared a mother and 3 kids (including a 3rd grader). It’s also the town Trump Border Czar Tom Homan calls home. Cook tells me about how the small town is taking on enormous power to bring the students home:

Republicans in Congress can join Democrats right now to turn off the bogus emergency Trump has declared to impose worldwide tariffs. Or they can continue to bend the knee to Trump.

Elon Musk’s DOGE cronies want an AI bot to replace the federal workers who advise students and families on how to pay for college. Relying on AI for major financial decisions is annoying at best and reckless at worst. Either way, it’ll cost Americans.

This is the first time one man has crashed the economy. As Americans see their savings evaporate, what are Republicans in Congress doing? Nothing. Republicans need to grow a spine and join Democrats right now to stop this man-made disaster.

Instead of using “emergency“ decrees to move us toward authoritarianism, Trump should declare our broken health care system an emergency and move us toward guaranteed health care for all. When 85 million Americans are uninsured or under-insured, that’s the true emergency.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are cutting Social Security staff, closing offices, and shutting off vital phone services. One field office worker called it a "house of cards that's about to collapse." This attack is hurting Americans everywhere. We will keep fighting back.

The message is: crowd large. Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift. Events like this puncture that delusion.

Lawyers have a duty to defend our Constitution. It is an absolute outrage that, in order to curry favor with Trump and continue making their billions, giant law firms like Paul Weiss have abrogated their responsibilities. Thanks to those defending democracy. We will remember.

More than 500 law firms rally behind embattled peers, declaring that Trump’s crackdown on the legal industry poses “a grave threat to our system of constitutional governance and to the rule of law itself.” But none of the top 20 firms join. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/04/b...

The executive branch will surely lose the argument that they have no control over the people they sent to El Salvador and are paying to house there. We are seeing real lawlessness here.

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

It sure looks like they’re going all in on the “the executive branch can ignore court orders if it thinks the court lacks jurisdiction” thing
