We are also on Mastodon: https://mastodon.social/@dblp
Hi everyone. We have decided to diversify the #dblp presence in social media and are now represented on both microblogging platforms, that is, Mastodon AND Bluesky. :) We are looking forward to it.
We will continue to read and post on Mastodon as well. You can find us there at mastodon.social/@dblp
Due to a security issue, some #dblp services will be temporarily unreachable today and possibly tomorrow. While dblp.org is available, sparql.dblp.org and dblp.uni-trier.de are currently offline. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will notify you as soon as the services are back up. ~MRA
A new version of the ROR registry has been released! 🎉 As always, new and modified records are immediately available in the ROR API, and the latest data can be downloaded from Zenodo at doi.org/10.5281/zeno.... Read what's new in release v2.13. github.com/ror-communit...

As you may have noticed: A week ago, there was another significant increase in requests to #dblp, so we had to tighten security measures to protect the website. This time, it may have broken some of your scripts or tools that rely on dblp APIs, at least temporarily. 1/2
There's a little hitch in the new submission rules for #chi2027 : if you submit a paper co-authored with former students and you can't reach them to link their ORCID/DBLP to their PCS profile, what to do? 🤔
(I know I still have a week to get them to do it, but it's not the first time students […]
13 days till the deadline: Every co-author needs a PCS account. Ask them now to sign in and add their ORCID and DBLP.
PCS > Account > Change Contact Information > ORCID & DBLP
ORCID must be valid.
DBLP can be N/A if they do not have one.

I often see arxiv pre-prints in reference lists of many papers even for sources that already have published versions. This is a really nice tool (by @zdenekkasner.cz) which will automatically replace arxiv versions or fix incomplete references through DBLP API: github.com/kasnerz/reffix
Today at UdS, we celebrate the 80th birthday of @dagstuhl.de founding director Reinhard Wilhelm. Among his many merits, he played a crucial role in creating a permanent home for #dblp at Dagstuhl.

Scatterplot of 4 million computer science authors, laid out according to co-authorship connections. Large blob in the bottom left are all single authors; removing them lets the plot breathe more somehow.
The source of the data is the @dblp.org bibliography.
There is currently an ongoing issue which has taken down both dblp servers (dblp.org and dblp.uni-trier.de). We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
We are actively working on resolving the issue and we will keep you informed. ~MRA
The servers have become a bit more stable, but they are still under a lot of stress. You should be able to work with the servers again, but please expect further outages today. ~MRA

Thank you very much!
We know who the culprit is, and honestly it is unbelievable that we cannot have good things because scarce (and might I add, publicly funded) resources are stolen by reckless gold rushers. Rate-limit or link-maze them all to hell, honestly. #compsci#compsky#academicchatter
There is a massive flood of website requests coming to #dblp from all directions. We are usually able to cope most days, but not so much the past four days. We are sorry, and we are actively working on it. 1/2

Like many other sites, we have seen an unnatural increase in traffic (for us, by a factor of about 25) since around September 2024. It might be ill-guided AI bots or malicious DDoS; it's hard to tell. And, frankly, in the end: What's the difference? 2/2 ~MRA
Institutional buy-in was critical to ACM Open’s success. By working closely with libraries and consortia, ACM created a transparent, sustainable model that institutions could trust.
