Jeff Bezos never wanted this cartoon to become public. He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit. Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

I didn’t leave X because people there had different opinions and ideologies, I left because it stopped being fun. I get on social media to chat with people who think thinking is fun. X stopped being a place where that was true.

The right don’t need to *do* most of the stuff they threaten. Look at the BBC news here. Largely still funded but changed utterly by Tory threats. They already won and no shots fired.

Might I suggest that the man who spaffed the best part of £100k on a tractor & custom built barn just so he could say he drove a Lamborghini on his farm might not be the best spokesman for cash-poor farmers www.driving.co.uk/news/diversi...

The only option is the uk is to go after the asset owning / rent seeking classes. There is literally no other store of wealth. Everyone else is drained.

Why isn’t anyone talking about TikTok. It’s got as bad as x, full of disinformation… is it that gen z don’t use it so they don’t know?

It’s exactly this. The right now isn’t an aspiration movement. It’s fed by making liberals feel bad. Nihilistic, mean, joyless.

The thing about Twitter versus Bluesky is that the right needs liberals on Twitter to make it feel worthwhile, whereas the left doesn’t need conservatives on Bluesky to make it feel worthwhile.

Be vigilant about keeping abusive right-wing trolls off your accounts by reading replies and blocking. We all have a responsibility to keep this platform from becoming the toxic sewer that the other one is. Don’t look to others, do your part.

Imagine sitting down for a drink or a meal with people whose company you enjoyed & being told by management that half of the table would be now occupied by people who just wanted to shout ‘C**t’ at you. The exodus has absolutely nothing to do with ‘opinions’. Media reports must reflect this more.
