Seen while getting more coffee - a very fluffy, healthy looking red fox. Right after this photo, s/he gave a big stretch and yawned and wandered off. #backyardnature

A week has passed since my last long #run, and I repeated it today. A smidgen longer and ~30 s/mi faster. I'll take it. In that week since, I also did a long bike, some walks, yoga, a shorter run. Busy week. #fitafter50 #fitnesssky #garmin

Yesterday's #fitness was the longest #run I've done in a few years. I'm still doing a run/walk as needed but very pleased with the progress. Signed up for a 5 mile race in 2 months, officially training toward a goal now. #fitafter50 #fitnesssky #garmin

It's been a while since I've posted my #fitness, but I have been steadily getting it done. Today was the first time in a few years that I was able to #run my favorite loop without walk breaks, up and down hills, for a full 5k. I couldn't be more pleased with myself. #fitafter50 #fitnesssky #garmin

Wow! First time that's happened - got it on the first try. I guess that will be the last time, too, since I always start with that word and doubt they repeat. Wordle 1,889 1/6 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Apparently, it is #KnitInPublic day. So, I am working on my socks outside. It isn't super public, just at my house, but it's really nice here. Lovely weather, in the shade, with music and an audiobook. #knit #knitting #sockknitting

Had a really cool #bird sighting yesterday of a Swallow-tailed Kite, north of their usual range, over Cape May, New Jersey. My husband's photo. #birds #birdphotography

I don't intend to fill my feed with videos of "here's a bird eating," but here's a Gray Catbird with grape jelly. They're one of my favorite birds, I love it when they sing all their songs, just like the mockingbird. #birds

I spent part of Mother's Day watching birds and caught photos of a few that I don't often see. Female Black & White Warbler May 10, 2026 - Maryland #birds #birdphotography

Today's workout was an after work ride. Even though my speed doesn't show it, this was a solid zone 4 effort with a strong headwind for the entire second half. #fitafter50 #fitnesssky #garmin #beatyesterday

Today's #fitness started with a morning walk. Then, some #kettlebell swings and another walk after work. None of the pieces super intense, but appropriate for today. #fitafter50 #fitnesssky #womenwholift

This is very real. I have a few personal projects. I don't let it infringe on bedtime, but I do dream about it. I can imagine bad consequences if you let it run amok in your brain. "They operate like slot machines": AI agents are scrambling power users' brains www.axios.com/2026/04/04/a...

Today's #fitness was a kettlebell session with some cycling on the trainer before and after. It was hard, need some recovery. #fitafter50 #womenwholift #fitnesssky

I've been steady this week with training, though I haven't posted most of it. Cycling, walking, yoga, kettlebells - all my favorite things. Today's #fitness was the longest walk I've had in a while, knee & hip held up okay. #garmin #beatyesterday

Yesterday was outstanding weather. I had a nice walk, trying to work through hip/knee issues. Today's #fitness was another ride. Getting back into a regular routine feels good and hurts, both. #garmin #beatyesterday

I've gotten out of the habit of posting my workouts. Today is a good day to get back to it. It went from freezing last week to 70° and shorts, so I went for my first outdoor ride this year. It was wet, so it was a mountain bike day. Good stuff. #garmin #beatyesterday

This sums up my feelings well, love watching it all.

My rough estimate is that I would die attempting 25% of Olympic events, injure myself attempting another 25%, be completely unable to even simulate participation in another 25%, and 25% could do approximately two orders of magnitude slower than the athletes.
