This was a good week for democracy. Old-fashioned organizing and determined resistance took down Bolsonaro in Brazil and the strongman in Serbia. And let's give a shout out to the "Swifties for democracy" in the streets of Brazil. youtu.be/E2Ke2MSEkvY?...

‼️ Overnight, Russia launched 16 ballistic missiles and more than 280 drones at Ukraine. Kyiv was targeted with Iskander-M and RM-48U ballistic missiles.
Oh maaaan, they KEEP raining ballistic missiles down on us here in Kyiv. HUGE EXPLOSIONS. Reports suggest Russia may be using ballistic missiles with cluster warheads.

I have zero sympathy for anyone involved in this grotesque farce. When you travel all the way to DC to go to the home of the most infamous fascist in US history and get ushered into his office alongside a videographer and photographer, you know *exactly* what vile game you're playing. Disgraceful.

Trump’s DOJ has charged James Comey AGAIN, this time under the Espionage Act over a 2016 New York Times story. In DOJ’s own words, Comey had staff talk to a reporter to “correct misinformation” in a Reuters article.
Comey: Well, they're back again. It would almost be funny if it weren't such an appalling abuse of the DOJ. One that we cannot become numb to. Nothing's changed with me. I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid of these people. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary.

“People thought that things would change, but in reality nothing changed.” José, another fisherman who used to work for PDVSA, had a darker view: “The gringos came to rob everything—the oil, the minerals. We are rich in everything, but here, we don’t have anything.” Bu @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu

Oh, right it's to distract from Jared being caught selling US foreign policy to dictators. Makes sense.
Ah yes, attack the Iranian nuclear power plant, and when they retaliate and the Middle East starts burning again, remember to blame Ukraine for the high energy prices I genuinely do not understand how people this stupid are running the most powerful country in the world

Venezuela will need billions of dollars to recover from what its authoritarian regime did to its oil industry—but the Trump administration’s intervention may be scaring away the investment the country needs, @anneapplebaum.wsocial.eu reports.
