Today I learned that you should not do a VO2Max session after just taking two bananas for breakfast. Here I thought I can't get any more sillier.

First time using a Magic Trackpad with my MBP for work. The temptation to reach for my mouse is still there. So far I love the gestures for navigating web pages and full screen apps.

I just saw the news about Dennis Padilla and his daughter's wedding. People were so quick to judge or defend him. The truth is we don't know the full story - and even if we do, we have no right to pass judgement to any party. Remember the Gospel from last Sunday - John 8:1-11.

Oh, you did something for the sake of your country? Well, congratulations, I guess? That doesn't magically make it a good thing. Saying that is like putting ketchup on a burnt steak—it doesn’t fix the problem, and now you've just made it weird. (1/4)

Or, "I cut in line at the grocery store… for the sake of my country!" No, Betty, you just didn’t want to wait for your turn like everyone else. (3/4)

If doing something for your country actually justified it, dictators would be saints, tax fraud would be patriotic, and every drunk uncle at a Christmas Party would be a political genius. Spoiler alert: They're not. (4/4)

Imagine someone saying, "I robbed a bank… for the sake of my country!" That doesn’t suddenly turn them into a national hero—it just makes them a criminal and a bad liar. (2/4)

For the incoming PH elections - the people must now start asking our senatorial candidates about their position on the upcoming impeachment proceedings on the Vice President. Anyone who's not willing to check the presented evidence prior to giving judgement should not be elected.

I smiled giddily knowing that Representative Luistro is part of the House Panel to lead the impeachment case. Let's see what happens next.

Apparently Jose Rizal (i.e. our boy J. Rizz) will be in Civilization 7 game. I don’t know how the game works but this guy wins the day for me

I absolutely destroyed my 3x25 Tempo workout yesterday, a first time to complete once since I got back to cycling. I once again realized that positive self talk will get you somewhere and that you won’t grow if you don’t go out of your comfort zone.

Rewatching Chernobyl. Its first words hit different these days. “What is the cost of lies? It’s not that we’ll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all.”

Spaniards used to deprive native Filipinos quality education to perpetuate the ignorance and weakness thus keeping them at bay. Looks like some of our politicians have taken notes and doing the same to us. Turns out political science has a term for it: Predatory Governance.

Sa pagdiriwang ng pista ng Poong Hesus Nazareno, ang hiling ko ay gabayan Niya ang Pilipinas, lalo na ang mga Pilipinong nabubuhay sa bansang ito nang patas.

The best thing you can do is starve Meta for revenue. Never click on or buy anything through their ads. Never pay for an ad to sell a product or advertise an event. Never do anything again that will put one cent in Mark Zuckerberg's pocket!

TrainingPeaks Virtual seems to be a better deal than Zwift especially since my training plans are in TP already. I might get TP Premium again for 2025

Now that I am on a budget, I find it easier to say no to unplanned purchase. ... Well it's still difficult. I just said it's easiER.

Now that I started budgeting my finances, I realized why my mom would ask me not to say "wala akong pera", but rather "wala akong budget". I have money, I just don't have enough to do an unplanned purchase.

I want to upgrade from a soundbar to an AV receiver. What would you recommend? I am looking at Denon AVR-S970H but I am open to anything cheaper than that as I still need to buy a pair of good speakers.

I would expect a Christian school to know and do better. Matthew 25:40

"... under the law, the standard of morality applicable to all is public and secular, not religious." 💯

Loved watching the fourth season of The Chosen. It encouraged me to pick up the Bible again to review some scenes. I have so much to learn.

Social Media has reached the point where it always sells something to me. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram. I don’t need that something, but somehow I feel compelled to buy it. That is not good especially for people who doesn’t have a control over their finances.

I no longer upload to Strava since I started my structured training this year so I just captured this from my Wahoo Systm account. The majority of those workouts were done indoors so I wouldn’t give my “total distance” that much of a deal.

But I am so proud of that total amount of hours (duration) spent on the saddle. Volume > intensity. I hope that I would still be able to do that much next year. Coming back from my cycling hiatus has been fun although I am struggling to go back to that habit that shaped me this 2024.
