Could not have said it better: I want to think about the code I ship myself. It's not about the LOC, but about the understanding of underlying structures. Generating the code won't give you that knowledge! Kudos @localghost.dev! localghost.dev/blog/stop-ge...

Just started the course and am already pretty excited about my progress! In the "Match my curve" section, I was even able to get a 100% match. Hopefully I get something special since it was Josh's favorite 😁
We’re live!! My brand-new course, “Whimsical Animations”, is now available. 🥳🎉 whimsy.joshwcomeau.com I’m so excited to share all of my animation tools and techniques with y’all. 😄
I recently had to create the weirdest type helpers with a usage of generics that would even make @mattpocock.com proud! And since I am also very proud of those, I had to write a blog post about them www.dertimonius.dev/posts/til-36
Damn, the automated title translations in Youtube are annoying. But happy to see that @syntax.fm is talking about Rückenwind 4, it's way cooler than @tailwindcss.com 🙃
Time to look back at the challenge this year has been for me blog.dertimonius.dev/posts/til-33

I once removed a 20+kB package from a production app by writing the two (!) utility functions we actually needed myself. In sum, it was only 30 lines of code, why always import libraries when you can do it yourself?
If one Christmas themed coding challenge with Advent of Code is not enough for you, don't forget about Advent of TypeScript: www.adventofts.com
'The heuristic I like to use to avoid shooting myself in the foot is asking “what is the simplest thing that could work?”. Then I only complicate that to solve actual problems.' Another great trick to write maintainable code: don't write clever code you won't understand next week...
Last week, I have written about my stance about TDD and if it might make sense for me to rethink my approach. What do you think: is TDD a waste of time or the only correct way to start with a large project?
"And as for you, developers, if you can’t write good code without an AI, then you shouldn’t use one in the first place." Could not agree more! Using copilot, cursor or whatever does not help you to learn the concepts faster, I would argue that it actually holds you back as a beginner
the main reason I do not want to use Cursor, Github Copilot or inline AI tools: I feel that they hinder my learning. I want to tackle harder problems by myself to grow my knowledge. AI is great to get unstuck, but even then I wait some time and mostly I ask for hints, not specific solutions

and since @vitest.dev is so fast, waiting for tests to finish is a matter of seconds instead of minutes

Really sad to see as it is my daily driver, but I think Theo is right: Arc will die sooner rather than later
