I think that when artists wish for old DA, it's actually wishing for things to go back to before socials. IDK if people remember, but in DA heyday, artists weren't all sold on the idea of monetizing everything. People joined DA because they wanted a fun & friendly community of other artists first -

There are a fair few people upset with FA for this, and the truth is FA is doing EXACTLY the correct thing here. For perspective: there is a vulnerability in (essentially) the scripting language that makes FA work, whereby an attacker could theoretically command FA's database to delete itself.
