Thank you, Vancouver. We did it!! This win would not have been possible without each and every one of you: the volunteers who spent countless hours talking to people; to every one of you who donated; and every voter who trusted @copevancouver with their vote. I am deeply humbled and grateful.

From Jenny Kwan's time as being COPE: The Coalition of Progressive Electors lone city councillor in 1993 to her tenure as an MLA and MP, she has fougth tirelessly for Vancouver. We are so grateful to have a fighter like Jenny to learn from, and we after honoured to have her support!

@tzeporahberman is an inspiration to climate activists around the world. She is the founder of @stand.earth, and is the founder and steering committee chair of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative. I’m honoured to have her as my mentor, and so thankful to have her endorsement.

@copevancouver is always on the side of workers. We are honoured to have the endorsement of the VDLC, UniteHere40, SEIU 2, IATSE 938, and many more for the city council team. Election day is October 17th. Vote COPE.

Honoured to have the support of @drmelissalem, a Vancouver family physician and a leading voice on climate and health. Climate action is health action: heat domes, wildfire smoke, the air in our homes. Vote COPE on October 17th

Get your very own Devyani sign! If you're with me on building a solidarity city, one that's actually on your side, I'd love to personally hand you a sign for your lawn or window. And if you live on an intersection maybe you need a bigger sign of the amazing COPE council team!!

While we're getting crushed by the cost of rent and groceries, Ken Sim is busy giving handouts to the wealthy and rolling out the red carpet for Big Oil. It's not a coincidence — the same corporate greed driving up your rent is the same greed fuelling the climate crisis.

And the solution is - re-invest in the public good!! Different symptoms, same disease, same solution!!! Vancouver doesn't have to be this way — we can build a solidarity city, one that reinvests in the public good instead of private profit, and is actually on your side.

Pets bring so much health, joy, and connection to our lives, yet our city’s policies make pet ownership an uphill battle. Renters are being squeezed out by unfair pet bans, forcing people to choose between sky-high rents or surrendering our beloved family-members.

A toxic beach is bad for everyone - homeowners, renters, tourists, and obviously our wildlife. Don’t let big oil ruin Vancouver. Let’s join the Tsleil-Waututh Nation and COPE Councillor @seanorrofficial and RESIST development without protections for our residents and our environment.

When scientists have gone from calling unnatural disasters "climate change crisis" to "climate change classics" we have a problem. A problem perpetuated by a billionaire-backed fossil fuel industry who seem to think what is hurting us all right now, won't affect them.

Fast fashion staple Forever 21 just filed for bankruptcy in the US for the second time in 5 years, and is set to close hundred of stores. Is this a win for sustainable fashion, or just a sign of the times? Here are our thoughts, what are yours?

Our provincial government are such losers. They are still trying to find ways to cave into the trucker convoy three years later. The notion that the Eby gov is going to "make polluters pay" is absolutely laughable - no one comes out swinging harder in defense of LNG projects than the BC NDP.

No, the world has not breached the 1.5C global warming target. It’s a climate target - which means it’s an average that must be sustained over at least a decade. We currently sit at 1.2 C. Which is already very bad. The science is clear: every bit of warming matters, every action matters.

"every fraction of a degree matters" is true as hell. In the same way that releasing CO2 hurts people and planet, avoiding its release saves us from potential harm This isn't some saccharine 'hopeful' message: it's the hard, inarguable physical reality. www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/w...
