So here it is *again.* #Trump says he's going to fix the #economy, to begin balancing the federal budget, use tariffs to achieve these goals .... and then winds up having to bribe whole sectors of the econ'my with one-off patch jobs that do little except increase the #deficit.

Imagine being able to figure out how to “make a car fly” but not being able to figure out how to feed hungry children with a trillion dollars.

Uh, isn’t buying #diesel from #Russia a violation of our own sanctions?? I want to see #MikeJohnson and #JohnThune prosecuted for repeated violations of their oath of office. And #Trump impeached. And I want to see Trump in jail.

New in PN: Trump’s meme coin grift hits a new low "It’s the certainty of staggering losses that makes clear this is nothing but a festival of bribery. No one who spends millions to attend these tacky dinners expects a return. They’re just giving the president money in hopes it'll buy them favors."

Jon Husted just voted to continue the Iran war for the 14th time. While Ohioans are paying record high costs at the gas pump and the grocery store, Jon Husted is voting for more war – and costing you more money – every chance he gets.

Corrupt Susan Collins saved by a Kash Patel and Pam Bondi cover up. bsky.app/profile/prop...

ProPublica@propublica.org

Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign. The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers. Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵

A big new story from us: a big new leak means that we can put numbers on the scale of A7 -- the Kremlin's huge money-laundering machine. $6.9bn laundered through the international banking system via SWIFT, with $1.1bn sent to StanChart alone. www.ft.com/content/3848...

It is quite striking if Meta thinks it has the tech + the policy + the will to ban/filter out feminism (but not misogyny, obvs). It sounds like there may be an analogous ban on antiracism (but not racism). www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Johnson claiming this because the House has passed a massive volume of hyperpartisan messaging bills designed to die in the Senate, but I say let him. If the GOP wants to run on “the current state of your lives is the result of the hard work of your Republican representatives,” that’s their choice!
