Had Miyamoto died in 1998, his achievements would have been immortal. Had he died in 2013, he would still have been a great man but flawed. But he is still alive and complaining about movie critics. Alas, what can one say?

Typical clueless Hollywood studio pushing for characters nobody cares about smh No one's gonna care for a kiddie film spin-off, Sony, give us Oscar worthy content for adults like Morbius 2: The Morbing, Madame Web vs Kraven, and 10 seasons of the El Muerto streaming show. You know, REAL CINEMA

This is the ending that was used in Spain for almost twenty years, before it was replaced by another one. It is still broadcast occasionally in reruns. (yes, this is the best video I found in a quick search lol) youtu.be/q87Fkp9DSyc?...

They should make a Punisher/Superman comic that's just Superman flying around stopping every bullet Punisher fires and it ends with Frank grumpily retiring.

Pains me to say this for how much I loved the game, but Clair Obscur's ending is genuinely bad in a way that sabotages the game's previous strengths. Not a matter of whether it's "sad", it's that its framing encourages players not to care about 80% of what preceded it...I ended up not caring at all

Lolsob that there are like 6 ports of SMT1 in Japanese but the only one in English was a discontinued IOS port But hey, another trillion dollars to Hashino Persona remakes!

A 1993 ad from Japan for the PC Engine CD port of Shin Megami Tensei, an RPG from Atlus In a post-apocalyptic Tokyo ravaged by demons and serving as the arena for two competing factions -- the Order of Messiah (for YHVH) and the Ring of Gaia (for Lucifer) -- you can decide who ultimately wins.

The more I think about it, the more I agree, A Hat In Time really is chibi-fied Doctor Who

I wanta cosplay hat kid SO bad, would probably go with this "adult Hat Kid" design from earlier versions of the game where she's even MORE just Doctor Who (seriously this is incredibly close to the 4th Doctor's design just with different coloring)

Simply one of the best openings (anime or otherwise) ever made. Rose of Versailles had it all!

Following a recent discussion on Doctor Who's recent story decisions: It's ok to enjoy slop. I've done it myself. Everyone does it sometimes. Just don't try to pretend it's something better than it is, orlash out at the people who point it out. enjoyable =/= good

No offense to OP (I agree with some of the criticism) but posts like this and some comments there are the reason I really don't get as annoyed at Hashino for his complete lack of subtlety, cuz even when he has the characters spell everything out people still completely miss or misread his points

headfallsoff@headfallsoff.com

Someone asked why i don't vibe with the hashino games so i gave a more thought out earnest answer — neospring.org/+r/182119170...

Like misread of the themes of P3 aside (It's not about su*cide! bsky.app/profile/dio7...) , ppl in thread saying stuff like"he made the P5 cast ubermensh standing up from the apathetic masses"(point of final arc is that no one can change society alone, which is why it's important to inspire people)

Solar@dio777.bsky.social

What might be missed by sequels copy pasting the formula is social sim/time management mechanics were uniquely created to suit specific themes of P3,how your time on earth with your loved ones is limited,up to you to figure out how to make the most of it. Not intended as social criticism in itself..

*Everyone* in the cast was apathetic because they were stuck in their own issues (the protag got severely punished for trying to do the right thing) until they were inspired by others and empowered to do something. There's a reason why the cast Personas are rebels who died but their story lived on

As much as I enjoyed TFA then, it's the original sin. As a reaction to (fair, to an extent) backlash to the prequels' often clumsy worlbuilding dialogue, TFA opted for having no worldbuilding at all that didn't reflect the conditions of the original trilogy(ie: big empire vs small rebels on the run)

I do think the popularity and aclaim of Persona 5 and Nier Automata (which is not turn-based but it's lumped in the JRPG category) did a lot to reverse the decades' stigma against JRPGs from people who weren't already fans of the genre ; compare with how Lost Odyssey was treated for being "outdated"

Sinners (9/10) Crime drama, period piece, horror movie, musical, it meshes so many different genres into one impressively coherent, thematically rich whole. All aspects (cinematography, acting, writing...) are masterful, but the one that takes the cake is the OST which I've been listening to non-stop

Resident Evil Remake (8/10) Now for also Capcom, but good. My first RE title, glad I finally gave it a chance. Surprised how much of a puzzle/adventure game it actually is, as opposed to an action game. "Dated" mechanics (limited saves, tank controls) work for the atmosphere of dread very well.

Devil May Cry (5/10) Funny this review right after Devilman's. A story about a human/devil hybrid vs a sympathetic antagonist in a conflict between species whose goals are tragically incompatible, full of brilliant social/political commentary on the worst of human nature; the other is Devil May Cry

Saw Devil May Cry. Look... maybe a game about a goofy edgelord chaining sick combos on hordes of evil demons wasn't the best foundation for a story about "both sides of the War on Terror were bad" Cuz it ends up with confused metaphors like "Muslims are demons,it's cool to k*ll them to Limp Bizkit"

if you see this, quote with a game with a 10/10 soundtrack The entirety of both Darkest Dungeon OSTs is goated, but Chatwood particularly cooked with the Color of Madness dlc one. Otherworldly terror never sounded this good

Finished reading Parasite Eve. Really effective slow burn medical drama that turns into all out sci-fi horror in the final act. "what if the mitochondria cells responsible for energy production and mobility in animal lifeforms like humans suddenly became sentient, and also really, really horny?"
