the reason you need to ban ai garbage isn't some nebulous thing about Humanity, although that's also Real Actually, it's because if you don't then you'll immediately experience infinite low-effort dogshit crowding out all the people who actually know anything and destroying all community knowledge

This is my one consolation: BioWare won't be forgotten, because it exists in the DNA of every single game designer who was influenced by their games. Everything we make exists in the shadow of greatness we once sat in. I can't forget.
As much as it's not really a surprise, especially given the industry right now coupled with the Saudi sale, the news today still made me sad. BioWare joins other great studios of the past, with a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. 😔 www.forbes.com/sites/paulta...

Watching this industry over the last 15 years has been so painful. The closest thing we have to a universal recipe for making great games is keeping teams together over time, and letting them cook. _Teams_. Of _people_. Seemingly nobody in NA games leadership has ever valued or understood this
You know what Nintendo does when they have a surplus set of devs from cancellations or production ending? Put them on other projects. The ability to redeploy headcount while keeping teams together over time is like, the main strategic benefit of scale in the game industry
Kenney has done more for the profession than any billionare -- great place to start if you want to get into making your own games.
I've made 6 open-source @godotengine.org projects perfect for as a base for your first or next game. Completely human-made and easy to understand code & comments. All visuals and sounds included, CC0! kenney.nl/starter-kits
