i'm not a mecha girlie at all (I liked g witch, which is the extent of my engagement with the genre) but it's really funny when people are like "um what if there was a normal mech story" where the subtext is they heard about mechsploitation and thought "nah fuck that tranny shit"

Wait this is a good thing tho? Like, a huge complaint of the past 5 or so years is that a bunch of learning resources are sequestered into discord servers instead of being searchable like forums etc were.

If it were closed servers it'd be a different story but it only applying to public, discoverable servers basically just serves to make a bunch of information that *should* be searchable easier to find.

Public discords should be searchable because everything should be searchable and we shouldn't have proprietary platforms at all but that's another story

underdiscussed good thing about GW2 that I really hope they continue in GW3 is having a strong player character. I know it gives you less roleplay potential, but it the things it allows them to do with the story are just so much more compelling.

anyway. VoE was one of the best storylines GW2 has ever done and the Commander's characterization was a big part of that.
